Hundreds of new laws went into effect in California on July 1. Among the new laws are a gas tax increase, gun dealers tax, vehicle registration fee extension, restaurant hidden fees prevention and drug testing kits at bars.

California collected $425 million from 3.73 million vehicle owners who were 60 days late renewing their registrations in 2019. The average registration that year was $289. $425,000,000/3,730,000 is $113.94. That's a 39.4% penalty/FEE.

Why do people live there? It’s ridiculously expensive and anti-small business. My husband and I lived there but left…it cost us more up front, but we’ve saved so much money in the long run.

I will finally get the hell out of here in 2 years when I retire too bad that how long this crazy governor has in office but if we get a Republican next time which we should all vote for then maybe I will stay. But today I’m pissed at this lousy governor!😡
