Seeing this snake brought me back to my childhood watching The Jeff Corwin Experience. If I am remembering correctly there’s a snake that looks similar to this on that’s venomous. I’m commenting early in the video, so you may say that.

The Coral snake is the venomous snake that looks like the King snake. The best way to distinguish the two is by the saying, "If red touches yellow, you're a dead fellow. If yellow touches black, you're alright, Jack."

Congrats on your zonata. Sadly I having seen many pulverized outcrops that were destroyed by those that I do NOT consider herpers because they are human garbage… Zonata can be tough, but when you eventually find a “hotspot”, the tendency is to find more then one their over time. I truly hope this species thrives. They are gorgeous and unique. And usually found in the most beautiful of habitats. Great job Noah ….

So the first time I saw a mountain king snake I was rock climbing. We had just finished a climb and from the top we spotted a cool slab that we could put some bolts on and make a new climb so we walked about a half mile up some really rough terrain to this giant rock. We get to the bottom of it with the suns in our eyes and we saw something shining in a crack at the top of the rock. We started to get bummed out cause we thought it was rock climbing protection meaning we weren’t the first people there and just as my dad was walking away we saw the shiny thing slither up the rock. Moments later it fell off the top of the rock and hit me in the head. Pretties snake I had ever seen and coolest story by far. Also best name for a new crock climb. “Suicide snake slab.
