I don’t think the forest service fire fighters need you telling them how to do their jobs. “Look around you there’s fire everywhere” is how I would’ve responded. They’re professionals, let them do their jobs. They have enough stress.

Why aren't they dropping fire retardants out in front of the main fires to help stop the embers. That stuff lasts for many days. Anywhere that the air is clear would be of help. I just don't see a major effort to do anything to save the valley. No one wants to see South lake tahoe go away. Cut down more trees for fire breaks and spread more red fire retardants. Seems they could have dropped a lot of it ahead of the fire before it got to Strawberry. The fire would have burned a lot slower hitting the retardants that would have been only a few days old. Dang it.

I lived in So. Shore back in the 70s. Horrible to see what the Caldor fire is doing. Please; send up big PRAYERS TO GOD TODAY ... for everyone's health and safety. God; please cover and protect every resident, home, fire fighter, all wild life and all of beautiful Tahoe. Tahoe needs everyone's prayers...please ... I agree with some of the others here on the topic of: giving out needless advice on "How To FIght a Forest Fire". Until you have worn a heavy fire suit and have battled major fire storms; don't give out advice. Spend your time in prayer; it's way more effective. Sierra fire fighters are total experts and most of them have been well trained for many years. They deal with so much more than most people even know about. Hoping the "tree huggers" out there are taking this all in. This should be a searing reminder; that THIS IS NOT CLIMATE CHANGE. It's a 100% reality check due to poorly managed forest lands. All of that forest debris, dead trees, etc. Just laying in wait to be WIPED OUT. Forests have to be maintained to keep them healthy. The tree hugger mentality does not see the whole picture. It has now introduced a beetle problem and other issues. I don't even think tree huggers know how a forest is supposed to stay alive and thriving. Seriously sad that so many people have to loose their land, homes, and jobs; thanks to small groups of liberals who don't have an actual clue and refuse to see a realistic "big picture", It's completely misguided. Praying for all of Tahoe ...! ( tears and prayers today .... )
