The front filled with water slowly so as it sank the pressure was equalised, whereas the stern was lifted out of the water until the very end, so as it sank air pockets would have caused implosions that weakened the structure.

Leave it as a grave, and not a tourist attraction. By all means, make a copy using results of the 3d scans, but leaving the ship alone. I could see treasure hunters ransacking the remains of the ship, and it sickens me.

Hi, FYI the background in the newsroom is Manchester/Salford Media city with the Manchester ship canal 😊.

Hello. The Titanic museum is in Belfast, and if I am not mistaken it occupies the old Harland & Wolf site.

Built in Belfast, sailed from Southampton

@@sharonbland9061 That is correct. What this chap was referring to was the location of the TITANIC MUSEUM, and asked for someone to comment on where the museum was located. I responded the museum was in Belfast. I had never heard of a TITANIC museum in Southampton. Yes; she sailed from Southampton after her sea trials. I have been a member of the Titanic Historical Society since the 1970s and have never heard of a dedicated museum at Southampton; but then again I can be wrong.

The only people who should see titanic are scientists to study, not pleasure seekers.

11:25 They were constructed out of very thin metal. I believe no remains of any of the four funnels existed by the time the wreck was found 73 years after it sank. On each of the funnels there was a bronze whistle. We found at least one of them and it still works to this day (might be worth a reaction in itself!), but there was no funnel debris anywhere to be found.

8:35 The stern section sank before water had fully displaced all of the air pockets, so it imploded on its way down.
@LeFingal
@LeFingal Жыл бұрын
the reason is because the stern had alot of airpockets and went down fast, so it imploded because of the pressure.

The front of the ship got enough time to fill up slowly with water as it sank. The stern of the ship had so much air left inside when it sank so it imploded. That's why the wreck of the stern is so messy

It's been all over the news the last few weeks that 5 people had died in a Submersible going to see Titanic, there's some places Humans aren't meant to go to in person, and the bottom of the Ocean is one of them.

To be fair people once extended that argument to trains as well, ocean gate moved with arrogance and were told by pretty much everyone they consulted that they would probably die if they proceeded with the titan design

No, that one failed because the CEO cut corners. It's the first fatality on a submersible in over 30 years. People die in car crashes every day, but people accept that.

@@mosthaunted2No, he says, being in a decent bathyscaph in an unnatural environment is safer than driving a car in a natural environment. And it is true.

I understand the fascination regarding this once beautiful ship. But, at the end of the day, it is a grave for all those who lost their lives. There is so much information and pictures now and KZfaq documentaries which you can watch. I think it's time to let these souls RIP.

The steam funnels were made of a thinner sheet metal as their only purpose was to allow steam a place to vent….and so after falling over/taking on water they basically just ripped apart sheet by sheet and the sheets of metal fell to the ocean floor and are now part of the debris field.

STEAM FUNNELS????? What is the point of having steam funnels. The Titanic Triple Expansion Engines needed STEAM to drive the Propellers. The funnels were there to dissipate the smoke from the coal fired boilers. Only THREE of the Funnels were used for that purpose. In the early 1900s funnels were symbols of speed and safety and the White Star Line wanted their newest ocean liner to be able to compete with its rival, at least on the outside: the Titanic's fourth smokestack was actually only a dummy, containing a first-class smoking room.

Isn't it a trifle strange to be waxing lyrical about the wreck of the Titanic, just as the bodies of five people who went for an expensive ride to see the thing are being raised from the depths? 🤔

why is the hole in the hull expanding outwards not inwards? was there an explosion from the inside?
@jetpigeon8758
@jetpigeon8758 Жыл бұрын
As the bow hit the seabed it caused a stubbed toe effect, which caused the hull to tear and bend outwards.

If you're still interested in learning more about cricket, the US team are playing Ireland now in a world cup qualification match. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h66KkryAv5mUgIE.html . There's also the ashes on at the moment which is probably the most 'pure' form of cricket, being a test series. you should also look up the history of cricket in the US, as it used to be very popular, and the first international match in any sport was a cricket match between the US and Canada in 1844
