Call for reshuffle of frontbenches as 'underperformers' scrutinised

The Australian’s National Editor Dennis Shanahan has called for a reshuffle of both the government and Opposition frontbenches, as the Prime Minister plans to axe the Assistant Minister for the Republic role.
"I think that the government certainly needs to dump some of these underperformers," Mr Shanahan told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
"Once we get past some of the immigration issues, we need to see a big shakeup in immigration and Home Affairs; they have been a complete failure for the entire period of the Albanese government.
“I think that … Peter Dutton needs to look at firing up, and promoting, some of the younger, more junior people he has in positions because I think some of the senior team are not cutting through.”

Took long enough but hopefully will not save the party. Such a high spending government. Absolute disaster such incompetence, inefficiency and Idiocy. As for his property it is his. I own a property and it is let to a single mum with 2 kids knowing this I have asked the agent not to put the rent up some years as I know she struggles but it didn't stop her asking for brand new aircons there are (3) even though the old ones still worked. So if he wants t sell that is his prerogative. I might add they reduced my pension by nearly half as the property has increased in value and increased my assets. Limited though they may be. You can't eat bricks and mortar

Albo can sell his home, but why not wait to see who buys it. If it's an Investor, they may be happy to keep the current tenant, pleasing both parties. If the buyer wants to move in then the tenant has until settlement to move out.

That assumes you have someone better to replace them, that the problem isn't the policies and that the unions and ALP powerbrokers will let you replace them. I'd say they are beaten on all 3 points.

This is a beatup. People who are in a rental situation when the lease ends are always in the situation. The house being sold helps someone else get a home. The tenant has had a good go.

Maybe the Australian newspaper needs to dump its very old white haired reporters. It needs to get rid of its own front bench. Its owner is 93. Many older reporters are totally behind the times, most comfortable when John Howard was around. All right wing and taking up space.
