She joins Lorraine live in the studio with news on her new stage adaptation, which sees her play an impressive nineteen different characters on stage. It seems to be a difference in how peoples minds work. Some people passively absorb cultural roles as far as its circumstantially useful, but invest in their innate biological personality as themselves. Other people proactively construct their cultural self from all available parts, presumably to mask or distract from the uncertain reality of their biological selves (often traumatised, ill or disabled people who wont be socially validated for their antisocial tendencies it seems)

Gorgeous video! Really resonated with me, I’ve always admired Eddie, and now Suzy as well. Also strangely enough this was recorded on my birthday AND I was born in 1985. Wonderful to know this beautiful human has been trying to be honest to themselves and living their best life for as long as I’ve been alive!

thank you for your bravery Suzy. What is interesting for me is that my art tutors at college loved your comedy and even played it to us as inspiration for a project. I came out to them and they used to be so supportive of my work and after I told them they wanted nothing to do with me. I wonder what they will feel now as you have now been so open about yourself. they really loved and respected you so much, and im sure they still do now too. For me it is healing because it shows me that though I felt so low about myself back then, I now feel it was about them not me. they were not better than me to look down on me. they are now learning im sure... its so hard to carry that for so many years. She's right, it is just the stage we are in now, black people, women, gay people alll went through a period of discrimination and the world is much better towards them now, because they fought in the past. this is just what we have to go through right now. It is the now ... one been through it for years and accept it just is what it is , for now ;)thank you Xx

They’re not screaming “trans men are men” at “rallies” where they shut down the opposition through physical violence. It’s almost as if being female and female socialisation plays a part in the non-domination of trans men’s narratives. As for AGP, if you can think of another explanation of why men derive sexual pleasure from seeing themselves dressed as women or claiming female experience (you can go all the way back to Jessica Yaniv to find a trans woman with a period fetish), go for it. They’re basically admitting it themselves on trans Reddit and TikTok. Isn’t lived experience what people report themselves?

@@FrankNFurter1000 Exactly. The claim from transphobes that all or most trans women are AGP has absolutely no actual evidence to back it up. Blanchard's theory (which is where term "autogynephilia" originated from) has absolutely no scientific basis behind it whatsoever, and was steeped in his pre-disposed bias. A friend of mine who is trans, said she was first aware of her dysphoria at the age of 4, long before she had sexual feelings or attractions of any kind, and many other trans people are aware of their dysphoria at an early age too. Whilst of course, fetishistic males who get a sexual kick from dressing as women exist, there is no actual evidence whatsoever that most trans girls/women fit into that category.

I have a lot of admiration for Eddie Izzard. An incredible athlete, compassionate and intelligent. He is not female, though. He seems to have this odd ambiguity about it all and says he's in "girl mode" and "boy mode" and now Eddie and Suzy, which he knows is putting people on edge. He should be able to dress and do whatever he likes, but he is very obviously a man, and i don't think it's ignorant to say so. I think it's ignorant,disingenuous and an insult to women to say otherwise.

I'm still confused by the new "Transgender" tag, though, even after lengthy explanation. Transvestite has always been a perfectly serviceable name for what you see when looking at Izzard: simple cross-dressing. To needlessly switch over to a term that traditionally has indicated chemical/surgical toggling of the bog equipment just adds more confusion to a matter that is already threatening to claim double the previous amount of public restroomage, most of the colors in the spectrum *and* half of letters in the alphabet! You think I'm exaggerating? Well, yesterday I went online and tried to donate $50 to the cause -- and an hour later a delivery truck was at my front door bringing me a dozen X-LG DQ BLTs!!!
