Looks, supposedly, aren't everything. I'm not a fan of the looks of the new Callaway Paradym X but the stats in the Swing Room are surprising and very impressive. I really like the look of the new Stealth from Taylor Made, but it didn't quite match the consistency of the Callaway indoors. So the final showdown and decision happens where it should, out on the course in a howling gale on the east coast of Scotland.

I switched to G430 from Callaway this year based on nothing else other than forgiveness as I plan to “bring the heat” this year. Initial course tests have produced some of my longest drives at Longniddry.

Hooked the head off the G425 in the early part of last year. Will give the 430 at try outside but I have a feeling it might be more of the same for me, I think it must be slightly draw enhanced coupled to a lack of ability from myself.

You should try similar drivers. Paradym X is for those who is struggling to launch the ball up in the air. So X with a wrong shaft for you, might give you a higher spin than if you play regular Stealth 2. You should do this same test with a regular Paradym against regular Stealth2 with similar shafts that is more what is good for you. That is a test i would like to see.

Yes, it was just in the Swing room the X seemed to be the best performing Paradym for me. I wanted to let people know that the X was good and that it may suit more people than you would think. I will do other tests. So far, the standard Paradym has flown a bit too low for me and the Triple Diamond is even worse. But I will experiment, thanks for watching.

Paradym already has around 7 wins on your this year but how much of that is just the golfer being sponsored by Callaway?

Yes, its doing well, which I'm pleased about because, like all of the top drivers this year its expensive and I've got some stock to sell! The Paradym does seem to be very forgiving on the launch monitor, so I think they've got something in terms of the technology, its just, the difference outside wasn't noticeable enough, over the Taylor Made, to change my mind. I'm sure Stealth2 will end up with a few wins aswell by the end of the season.

@@golffm6924 My guess is if Jon Rahm was sponsored by TaylorMade the Stealth 2 would have a lot of wins. It's largely the Indian and not the arrow. $600 US is insane for a driver. I remember when they were $300-$400.

Yeah someone with a Taylormade or a Titleist or whatever will go on a run at some point and the manufacturers will not miss their opportunity to tell you about it. I must say I'm a bit worried about this season and the price of all the woods -even fairways are £300. They need to be good for people to part with all that cash.

Titleist has 4-5, Ping has 4-5, TM has 3-5. The difference is pretty much Rahm is sponsored by Callaway lol.
