I'm not Tovia but I'd love to add to this conversation. So the most interesting thing to me is that El is portrayed widely but Yahweh is not mentioned. While El could be seen as the generic term for God but use that word with a Ugarite he'd think of his El. The narrative diluted is that a nomadic tribe were entertaining a land with a preexisting religion. The nomadic tribes equated Yahweh their supreme diety with El and syncretism began over time. But you can see clear parallels between several canaanite myths. My favorite is the Ugaritic tale of El getting blind drunk and passing out. Where we see a retelling of that myth where Noah invented wine got blind drunk and collapsed naked in his home only later to be discovered by his son. It makes me wonder that maybe the sons of El discovered their father wallowing in his own bodily fluids and they were cursed like Ham was.

Your question “how can you be your own father?” shows you do not understand the doctrine of the Trinity. All three persons of the Trinity are one God, but distinct from each other. The Father is not the Son or the Holy Spirit, the Son is not the Father or the HS, etc. The Trinity is three distinct persons in one being which is God. At Jesus’ baptism, the Father spoke from heaven and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in the form of a dove. This perfectly illustrates there are three distinct persons. It’s hard to understand, and I’m not claiming I comprehend it, but I’m just offering you a slight clarification. Hope it’s clear as mud 😅

As you get closer to God, it becomes very clear to you that your love for your Creator is real and very powerful. This naturally leads to wanting to serve God's Will using your own Free Will. You don't need to want to serve God first prior to wanting to Know God. You can want to Know God for your Salvation first and then as God gets closer to a permanent Relationship with you, it becomes impossible not to want to serve God. @@bel31670 Nobody has ever turned from all their sins. Repentance of sins is a lifetime of works and has never saved anyone or contributed in any way to salvation. That's for service, not salvation. That's for temporal fellowship with God here on earth and rewards in Heaven or a lack thereof and have absolutely nothing to do with salvation at all. During Jesus earthly ministry the Jews were back at their animal sacrifices. The payment for all sins has been made once for all. If sometime in the future the third temple is built and the Jews return to the animal sacrifices, that only proves that the Bible predicted the future. Jesus payment still stands.

Salam alaykum. How do you believe that Allah revealed himself to Moses, and revealed himself a second time to Muhammad, when the writings of the Torah are different from the ones in the Qur'an? We have maintained the original scriptures of the Torah exactly how they were given by HaShem/Allah to Moses, and they are different in many aspects to the corresponding parts of the Qur'an, why would Allah reveal the same books in contradicting ways?

@@davigurgel2040 Salam Brother, Idk much about the Torah so can you tell me the differences between the rules put forward by Muhammad (Pbuh) and Moses (Pbuh)?. But as far as I know, Allah sends different Prophets and messengers for different tasks. For example during the time of Adam (As) you could marry your siblings because there was no one else, this is obviously not allowed in Islam now so that could be a reason. The Islamic belief is that Allah sent messengers to certain people and eventually he sent the final Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) for all of mankind and the Quran as the final complete law that can't be changed

I too am not familiar with the Quran, so I don't know exactly what the differences are, but I know there are differences, for example in the story of the creation Iblis, the devil, is specifically mentioned by the Quran, while Judaism does not accept the existence of a Devil.
