they literally kissed, stupid writers didn't give them a chance

no cos like i NEED to know what callie was going to say when ximena said she’d wait forever for her, like the way she looked at her and softened 🥺 why did they have to interrupt them right then??? and the fact she kissed her back and never said the whole “don’t worry about it but i’m not yano” thing like they really set us up for a callie and ximena end game and then she went back to chasing a boy who had moved on????? and then a whole republican ??????? after all the looks and flirtatious gentle touches do they really want me to believe callie wouldn’t have risked it for ximena in that moment?

In hindsight, I think the writers just didn't push this relationship because they didn't wanna appear to force too much of a "gay agenda". Lesbian mothers. Jude was gay. Callie dating a trans man. BUT bringing Ximena over into Good Trouble does seem like a grand idea!

My favorite love interest for Callie. Catching up on good trouble and seeing her with Jamie is just ugh, I miss ximena. I don't hate Jamie, it's just that I find him about as compelling as wet cardboard

I'll be honest, as cute as they look together, part of me is glad Callie stayed straight because I never liked the Armoured Closet Gay cliche where the tough homophobe suddenly realizes they're gay or has been in the closet the whole time, especially when they're a bully or like Callie, an ex-con who stopped being a homophobe a little while after a lesbian couple took her in. But they should've at least addressed Ximena kissing her or that they kept in touch all this time. BTW, I had no idea until now that Spooner from Legends of Tomorrow was Ximena, looking up her filmography.
