@@RRCBApples to Oranges. O’neill Ops is tactical shit like going to war with coyotes. They hunt at night with bullet proof helmets and night vision goggles. This is average person coyote hunting. Something everyone can do. O’neill goes out in ghillie suits, building tactical 2,000+yrd rifles to shoot a Mangy Coyote. They are going to be shooting heat seeking mortars at Coyote dens before too long. Their filming and B-roll is cool and I enjoy watching their hunts though.

Dustin, from everything I have seen about a coyote (or other canines’ noses for that matter), their ability to pick out minute parts per million of scent, it is really a moot point trying to fool their noses. Therefore, one thing you can do is try to use that to your advantage and set the caller upwind of your position so you can catch the circling coyotes as they try to detect your wind. Sometimes the young and uneducated coyotes will charge right in, as will aggressive ones, but if they have reason to be cautious, they will make their way downwind of the sound source to try to let their noses tell them what they’re in for.
