Calling in Rabbits - Bowhunting with Vital Point

In this video I have some fun calling in Rabbits during a quick mid-day bowhunt. I end up with a rabbit, but not exactly as expected! I also scout for some deer while in the woods, and come across a host of predators and wildlife, as always on Vital Point.

Tim Wells is another KZfaq who frequently calls in rabbits with predator calls. He has many great videos out there.

I’m finally getting my comments to show up. I feel like most of my hunts end with a call asking “what’s your ETA?”, and then me running out of the woods! 🤣🤣🤣

This is the first I've seen anyone calling rabbits in. That's an interesting idea and cool that it kinda worked on the one. I think that saying "if looks could kill" needs to be changed. I'm pretty sure that thing saw you and one look killed it haha.

LOL. I told my brother-in-law that most of my hunts end with a phone call asking “What’s your ETA?” And then me running out of the woods! Hahaha.

I was sneaking up on a rabbit and he was looking in the other direction and seemed to get spooked by something and ran off. I decided to go on my phone and play a rabbit distress call I found on youtube, played it for a few minutes and didnt think much would come of it so I pulled my phone back out to turn it off and sure enough that rabbit had snuck back in within 10 feet of me and I never even knew it. He didnt run completely away so I decided to call again and ended up bringing him back in with the call but the call sound I used changed to another rabbit distress and he surely didn't like that one, it seemed to have scared him and he bolted away.

Yes, They surprised us with how tasty they were. Unfortunately, I didn’t harvest any last season, but i rarely hunt them specifically. Usually I get one or two a season while walking out of the deer woods.

Get a 3D Leafy Ghillie Suit instead. Grabs the bushes much less.

I’ll have to try that, thanks. The one I have was only 25 bucks, so had to try it. It conceals very well, but likes to grab everything.

@@leafinitup1 The Kill Suit Mesh Ghillie suit they sell on AllPredatorCalls.com is good too (get the SAPR one), especially in Hot weather, since it's Mesh. But that one ya gotta be careful because it wants to grab things bad as well and rip a bit too. The SAPR suit not as bad as grabbing things as much because it's up off the ground to just below knee height.

@@mr.kenslifeshop4034 Yes. I’m not an expert on the subject, but my understanding is that the rabbits hear the distress call and stick their heads out to see what’s going on

I'm a squirrel hunter,not much else really,but would like to try and hunt rabbit,but I'm lacking woodland rabbit hunting,and how to use a rabbit call,what kind of time intervals do you blow it? Etc...

If you have ever heard a real rabbit in distress, they are loud and screaming for their lives. It’s not like a soft deer grunt. Every 10 minutes or so, I’ll make a racket for about five minutes
