As a married person, i agree with Laurence (wife, kid, parents). Your parent's understand that and they have the same order. Some factors may result in changes, for example cultures and religion. Happy wife happy life is the most true and evident statement. When you prioritise your wife, she will in result be happy and in result the kid will benefit. Because your wife and kid are now happy, you have time to visit your parents. It's a order that makes sense.

This was told to me by one of my uncles, the only person you have is your spouse. your parents grow old and your kids have their own life and as a parent, their responsibility is to educate them and teach them how to live. so people should choose wisely as to whom they should spend the rest of their lives with because it’s the most important decision they will make.

I am married. Have been with my husband for 7 years. It’s definitely spouse, kids, and mom. As a christian, (which I am) when you get married, you become one with your spouse so in a sense, its like, how can you put someone else above another part of yourself?? I think you have to secure your home first and make your home as happy as possible. You never want your spouse to subconsciously feel inadequate. At the same time, for me, my mom and spouse both understand the order and love and respect each other to the point that there are never force me to choose one over another-they always tell me to pick the other person out of respect. Hope that makes sense. Love the pod!

But in reality your kids are actually a part of you while your spouse is not. Kids should be number one.
@athenasantiago3465
@athenasantiago3465 2 ай бұрын
I used to prioritize my kids until I realized that the head of the family unit is me and my husband. If we're not good, then that seeps down to the kids, and the whole family unit gets impacted by it. The thing is, it's easy to prioritize your children. It actually comes really natural as a parent (especially as a mom). But if your actions go unchecked, you can end up becoming nit picky and micro aggressive towards your spouse, who is the only person that actually understands what you're going through. Raising children is a blessing but it's not an easy task, but what's important is that you guys are in it together. Then one day your kids will eventually grow up, move out and have families of their own. If you spent the last 30 years prioritizing them instead of your spouse, what happens when they leave? You're left with a stale marriage and essentially a roommate. I decided that's not what I wanted for my marriage so I started prioritizing him first.

Been married for 27 years and have two sons (25 and 21). My opinion has always been Wife, Kids, then Mom. The moment you marry your wife is first and foremost in your life. It is you and your wife against the world. It doesn't mean you don't love your Mom, but but your inner circle changes when you marry. Just my opinion.

It’s Wife, Kids then Mum. People don’t understand how important marriage is, it’s literally two people making a promise to God that you will be with this person for the rest of your life. You become a partnership, and as a Man it’s our duty to protect our new family & honour the marriage. One day your wife will be the only person there when you’re sick/old. Edited: I feel like people don’t actually understand how important and holy Marriage is. Society has damaged the way people look at Marriage. (Western World mainly)

I am married for about 6 months and got a 8year old daughter. The correct order is Wife>Kids>Parents.. the reason behind it is.. after you leave your parents house you are supposed to live with the wife and live with her and raise kids together.. and after your kids grow, they will also leave to their partners.. the only one that will stick by you till the end will be your wife.. hence why the order is that way! When yall were talking about if u cutting a friend constitutes as forgiveness, in my opinion forgiveness doesn't always mean reconciliation or maintaining a close relationship with the person who hurt you. Sometimes, it means acknowledging the harm done, letting go of negative emotions, and making choices that are in your best interest, even if that means distancing yourself from the person who caused you pain. GREAT POD THO, Lawrence has been a dope part of the podcast!!!

You guys made me want to get on a podcast. Your questions are always really good and deep. I am a deep thinker. Therefore, i like these sort of questions. Forgiving someone is not easy, but it can be done and you never forget it cause at points in your life you just reflect on it and you either to choose to forgive again no matter how it makes you feel and use it as life experience where you grow from it. We choose to trust people yet the choice of being up for their trust falls on their shoulders. Forgiving is always an option but forgetting comes by time and how far you have moved from the specific issue in your life. Love your guy's work keep doing it brothers y'all are amazing proud of you both.

As a married man: 1) Wife (because biblically her parents gave me the responsibility that they have had right up until the ceremony when she was given away. I too was released from my parents care for my wife to look after me.) 2) Kids because they are our responsibility 3) my first love in a Woman. I get the divorce scenario but biblically divorce isn’t an option. It’s literally “till death do us part”.

Absolutely love this show. My mom pass away on on 31st Dec, 2021 and as a female it was especially heartbreaking, our bond was super deep. Loved hearing the guys interact with their mothers, what love and respect. Low key I know Filly's mom wanted to say mom 1st, the kids 2nd and wife 3rd.😀😀😀. 100% support her logic.

I think part of the forgiveness convo is mixing forgiveness with trust in a person. Someone stealing, lying can show you that they can’t be trusted. So ending the relationship is wise. Forgiving is a heart posture, so I’m not holding a fire in my mind when your name is brought up lol

As a married man, the order is: 1. My Wife 2. My Kids 3. My Parents And I think if you don’t understand this, you’re not ready to get married yet
@therealhb1763
@therealhb1763 Ай бұрын
Huh that’s very ignorant to say u ain’t ready to get married when most religions and people and cultures values parents 1st and that would never change even if they get married
@networksimply6432
@networksimply6432 Ай бұрын
@@therealhb1763 not most religions. With followers of Jesus it says specifically “a man leaves his father and mother and joins to his wife” - there’s an emphasis on the family unit and marriage that mirrors Jesus marriage with the church. So it’s wife then children then parents. They’re all held in the utmost esteem but in that space of esteem, that’s the God ordained order I believe.
