US high school teachers need to get over themselves. Many of them are fresh out of college and acting like they're owed something. Meanwhile, at most universities, all professors are docs or post-docs and maintain things on a first name basis. Hell, some of them would even rather be addressed by their nicknames, and yet here are these recently graduated bozos demanding a deference they did nothing to earn. Wanna be respected? Get a PhD. Otherwise, it's first name, and be thankful I even bothered to get it right.
