Playing in a world that is actively attempting to kill him may give Kevin some insight into what characters in his colony sims feel like

Just to clarify: the number of mobs spawning seemed so high because the world border and rising lava made it so all the spawnable locations were in the area right around Kevin

I haven't seen Kevin have this much fun with a challenge in a while. Usually it's just pain and regret.

I see Kevin is employing the survival tactic I like to call "Pillage the Village"

Can't say when I clicked this that I was expecting zombies to be such a problem, but that's what makes these weird challenge videos fun to watch

Not sure if Kevin's trying to justify the morality of stealing from doomed villagers to us or to himself, but given what we've witnessed him do to NPCs in the past, theft is kinda small potatoes here.

With the new 1.18 generation there is also new ore generation, you should check out the new chart, iron is now more common higher up so you'll need a mountain instead of a ravine lol

Kevin, the lava is rising every 5 seconds. That's why it's so fast. Also, tell the mod creator that they should update it for 1.18 given that the world height is now much bigger. Starts at like -150 now and goes to like 500.

i'm late to the party on this video but this just reminds me of a popular minecraft classic (the browser based version of minecraft) game mode that i'd play around 2013 ish. that version of the game had limited world sizes, and this game mode would spawn lava in the top most block in one corner of the map. most servers had premade "city" or "village" styled maps. every few seconds, the air blocks touching spawned lava would also become lava and so on until the map was filled. iirc, you couldnt mine blocks, lava didnt flow, and fire didnt spread. the trick was to find the spawning corner, sprint to the opposite corner of the map, and hide in the furthest corner of the furthest building or cave. i kinda wish someone would recreate that exact mode in modern minecraft, honestly.
