Calls for rat strategy in Toronto

8 күн бұрынAlejandra Bravo and Amber Morley say they have been receiving complaints from people who are concerned about rats in their neighbourhoods. They say large rodent populations have become an increasing challenge due to climate change, construction site management and other factors. They want council to direct city staff to come up with a rat reduction action plan that addresses environmental factors and has an integrated pest management approach.

@@thepunisher9698 nooo your dumb, do some research, in 2014 there was estimated to be a lil over 100,000 stray cats in the city and now today in 2024 theres a lil over 17,000 so yeah noticably low, where even the rats have noticed.im sorry but I'll take stray cats over street rats anyday.

My rescue dog from Texas has killed 3 and a baby so far. I blame people who dump garbage in parks and leave nuts and seeds out for squirrels. Rats climb trees and eat Mulberries. My neighbour saw his tree stripped with a rat in it.

@Brinn-yw4dy You can read all of the stories you would like. There's no way for any of this information to be proven. There's no hard evidence to support any of those stories. I just turned 71 years old last month and spent 40 years working for the city. I worked nights. I saw the real problems this city has and rats are not a new one. If anything the streets have become cleaner over the years. You should have seen this place in the 70's and 80's. Seriously it makes me laugh when people start acting like this is the new plague. I bet you could find stories from that Era in the archives in regards to rats.
