Here is a full length flight video from this summer in the Aerolite. It was a super nice day and I was glad to get up in the air. I stayed mostly in the vicinity of the airport and performed several take offs and landings through out this flight session.
Since this is a longer video I thought I would provide a guide of various time stamps for some of the video highlights:
1st take off 1:45
1st landing 10:45
2nd take off 13:10
Stall practice 17:15
Slow flying 19:00
2nd landing (STOL practice) 23:35
3rd take off 25:10
4th landing (STOL practice) 27:50
4th take off 29:00
flying low over fields 35:00

My exhaust temp was a bit high and was exceeding whatever warning level I had set. I had the light set at a fairly low temperature so I could keep an eye on the temps well before they reached a critical level. I personally would not even use the light again since I keep my head on a swivel while flying anyway. It really just made for reduced sight at dusk.

Trying to figure out if that's a Thumpair or 2 stroke. Ah, once off the ground is sounds like a 2 stroke.

Nice flight, but would have been much better without all the movement from left to right with the helmet mounted camera. Damn I was almost getting dizzy watching LOL You may want to get a stable mount for your camera behind you as all the movement really kills it. But nice flight again in your 103 !!

Yeah it's a give and take. Sometimes the helmet cam is great, sometimes I have to look around a lot for safety. I usually edit that kind of stuff out. This footage was going to go unseen if that were the case, so here it is.

Can you reach the EIS in flight? It looks very far away. I’ve never seen an Aerolite 103 in person.

No I could not. I have since removed the EIS. The panel by your feet is not a great location for it.

Thanks. I’m considering purchasing an Aerolite. I’ve got some old eyes. I don’t know that I’d even be able to read that EIS.

A lot of guys move them to the he man bar just above your head. I never intended to use the EIS for long, so I just left it there for the time being. Really, in an airplane like this, the info on the EIS is nice to have but not necessary. You can really boil the whole thing down to rpm and CHT and be just fine, IMO.
