I have studied carefully both sides of the spectrum (pre and post tribulation). For me post tribulation sounds more in alignment with the scripture and the reason is that it's human nature to avoid pain--no body want to go through the tribulation; but remember, first century Christians went through hell on earth especially under Nero where countless loss their lives for the faith. It that was a fact, what makes you believe that we're exempted from tribulation? That's a belief that came about after the 1800's. No church fathers or early Christians believed such thing as pre tribulation.

My KJV references 1Thessalonians 4:16 "...with the trump of God : ..." to 1Corinthians 15:52 "...at the last trump ..." Pretrib "fly away" is at the last/7th trump? That doesn't make sense.

The Last Trumpet in 1 Corinthians and the Trumpet call of God in 1 Thessalonians are the same. Those who can hear the trumpet sound will be caught up in the rapture. This is a Pre-Tribulation rapture. There is no Post-Tribulation rapture . The day when the rapture happen will be the beginning of the 7 years of tribulation. On the last day of the tribulation, Jesus will come back to reign on the earth.

This'' last trumpet '' is also known as the trumpet call of God. The seven trumpets in the Book of Revelation are known as Angelic Trumpets. When the last trumpet sound, we will be taken up to heaven to meet the lord. Meaning no more trumpet call from God. This is the first and the last trumpet call. If you miss this last trumpet call, you will miss the rapture and remain on earth. If you are caught up, you will stay for seven years in heaven with the lord Jesus and then come back to earth with Jesus on the last day of the seven years of tribulation. If there is a Post-tribulation rapture, you will see your friends moving up to heaven while you and your Pre-tribulation rapture saints and Jesus are coming back to earth for the battle of Armageddon. Hence there is no Post-tribulation rapture !

Therefore to argue the church fathers believed in a pre-trib rapture doesn’t work if they universally taught the church would face the antichrist. Meaning that they either didn’t believe in a rapture or the rapture they believed in was different than the modern understanding of the pre-trib position. I think this is worth exploring and asking about. If you don’t agree, that’s fine, let’s link arms at the cross and show the world the unity we have. But for those who are familiar with the church fathers, they’re going to naturally ask about this.

Once we die we will have no further use for our bodies, Colleen. The Bible says that our body is like a wheat seed or a kernel of corn that goes into the ground and dies so that a new plant can rise. The new will be recognizable as coming from the seed but it will be much grander. Think of a dried kernel of corn vs. a corn stalk with shiny green leaves and ears full of sweet, juicy corn kernels.

Not one divinely inspired writer references a prophecy of a vision of another writer that had not even taken place yet, so Paul wasn’t referring to the seventh trumpet of Revelation. *2ndly,* Paul was killed in 70 AD - well before the writing of Revelation. *Thirdly...* "But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.” *Rev 10:7* That's an ANGELIC trumpet sounding, NOT the trump of God. The verse also says that the angel shall BEGIN to sound which means it will _C O N T I N U E_ for however long & that's *TOTALLY* unlike the short blast that can't even be measured as we count time, i.e. "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye." *#4...* The seventh trumpet is not the last trump because we don't see the raptured Church anywhere in Revelation chapter 11. If that is the Rapture, where is the church,...there's no mention of it. It's not even logical. No, Paul was drawing from his Jewish knowledge of the blowing of trumpets. His Jewish audience in Corinth would have also made that connection, which may be why he did not elaborate on the reference to the “last trump” in his epistle. You say "LAST", but if that sounds DURING the tribulation, you're not wanting to count the trumpet that will be heard at the END of the tribulation in *Matt 24,* so why is that?
