You are quite right that when someone accuses another person who critiques his or her personal hobbyhorse of being obsessed with the issue, that it is a form of manipulation. "No, sir/madam. YOU are obsessed with this issue, to the point that you've made it a public issue and now I am forced to respond to it. I would be perfectly pleased to pull this issue up from the root and be done with it altogether." You tie this back to the response that some women sometimes receive when defending women's spaces. There is a blind spot here that needs to be addressed and that is the invasion by women into men's spaces. It's Schroedinger's Feminism: women are simulataneously strong and capable enough to play with the boys while weak and incapable enough to warrant protection from the boys. If we want to pull this issue up from its roots, then women must remember that they are special and stop pretending to just be equal. We don't put the fine china into the cupboard. It's special; we put it into the china cabinet. We don't use it everyday; we reserve it for special occasions. If we treat a china cup like just any quotidian cup, then it will break. And if we can put the china into the cupboard, and use it for any ordinary purpose, then we can put the stoneware into the china cabinet, and we can reserve it for special occassions. Until women reclaim their special status that they once held before feminism took it away, put back on the veil, step back behind the grille, and step away from the masculine world, then any calls to pull men out of the feminine world are incoherent.

@@leonharrison800There is a concept that’s hard to grasp called eternity. Something has to be eternal or nothing exists. There are two choices; matter and a Creator. The matter one doesn’t make sense though as we would have experienced heat death already, thus matter must have a beginning. That leaves only one option left and Occam’s Razor would then state that one is true.

Call it homophobic if you want but the fact of the matter is that the bible condemns homosexuality in multiple places in both the Old and New Testaments. Being unrepentenly gay is simply not compatible with being a follower of Christ. And I know better than most as it is a struggle I live with everyday. But I know the only unsinful choice for me is to be celibate and I'm not going to pretend otherwise and potentially lead others into sin.

It’s such a shame about Steve. I used to go to Greenbelt back in the 90’s and listen to him preach. He was awesome and very highly respected. Now sadly somehow he’s gotten lost along the way. 😢 Now he is being replaced. By men awesome outspoken men of God like Calvin. Full of courage and boldness. 💪🏻👍🏻

It depends on how you view it, many Christians recognise it’s a human story, written by humans. They believe in God, but see the bible largely as book with myths and falsehoods in them. I mean, if we want to get down to specifics, it's to secure the genetic lineage of both parties. The covenant of marriage forbids husband or wife from producing children with others outside the marriage. When that standard is upheld, the lineage of any children produced in the marriage is set in stone.

@@JacobChaney127 My apologies. Let me clarify. I meant vital in the sense that it's vitally important for a couple to remain under covenant and meaningful because marriage itself glorifies God. As for your question, I find it to be illogical. Before children are introduced, a couple is married. You would never tell a married couple that they are simply monogamous just because they have no children. By this logic, Abraham and Sarah weren't married, Elizabeth and Zechariah weren't married, and Elkanah and Hannah's parents weren't married. It can't be just children that ties a couple together. What happens when the children grow up and leave this house? Do they suddenly stop being married?

I have noticed for years that when someone "straight" wants to discuss these issues, they're often accused of being "obsessed". Yet society has been saturated with this topic on tv, in classrooms, the streets, from corporations, etcetera - ad infinitum. Atm he is in an anglican spitter group, that schismed from the larger anglican Church. He seems open to become catholic, but since the catholic bishop in London would not let him speak either, as well as the anglican one, it didn't seem right to him. Let's pray for our Church, for our bishops and that one day the way might be open for him and many, many others!

So-called "progressive" Christian: "Well that's just your interpretation, Jesus." That's LITERALLY what they're saying! They're saying Jesus got it wrong. This is why they do not have a high view of Scripture: if you say "scripture changes with time and culture".... well then, how long before people no longer need a Savior because "we're all basically good people?" I've actually heard some progressives make that argument. They say the only reason Jesus died was due to power inequality and human greed. Um, yeah, that was PART of it, but only two of many sins everyone deals with. According to them, it wasn't God's plan to send his son to die for the sins of the world. Scary stuff!

To me, they BOTH missed the BIG POINT. God has "SEALED" marriage as between two people, a man & woman. Any other union is anathema to the "seal". What the church teaches is not important. What is important is what the Word of God says. And the Word is very clear on this topic. There are no contradictions in the Word of God. Yes, God was the one that allowed Satan to temp David to count the number of Israel so that the both accounts are true. Just as God allowed Satan to reach out and destroy Job's life (Job 1:12) in an attempt to get Job to curse God. Only to later admit He was the one who incited Job's trial (Job 2:3). So no contradictions. Only different views of the same truth.

The reformation attitude was very much that we did not need a divinely led church. We could be our own interpreters of scripture and we didn't need the guiderails of inspired tradition. Luther took books out that didn't agree with his ideas and he wanted to remove even more. This spirit of individual interpretation as the highest authority is the fruit of the reformation.

Wrong. Martin Luther was without a doubt led by the Holy Spirit, as the Catholic Church was proven beyond the shadow of doubt to be Antichrist. At one point the church was telling people that they could pay their way into heaven😂. Nowadays the Catholic church is saying it's okay to be gay etc. I didn't know about this whole roman Catholic, and Orthodox Catholic or whatever being different honestly. It just proves the reformation needed to happen in my opinion, if even the original Roman Catholic Church separated itself into an Orthodox Catholic or whatever this Calvin guy is.

Wrong! The ONLY unforgiveable sin is to blaspheme the Holy Spirit - see Matthew 12:31: "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men." Also, the English translations/versions use the word "pride" but the correct translation of "ga'own" is "arrogancy" - original word, in ancient Hebrew (totally different to contemporary Hebrew which is a bastardisation using Yiddish): גָּאוֹן N.B. Calvin Robinson is a false teacher; a wolf in sheep's clothing.
