Ghost notes are different patterns that are played on the snare that are played lower than an accent. That's the best way I can explain lol just pay attention in the vid nd you'll get what I'm saying lol

+jly jly To add, ghost notes are technically defined as unemphasized (unaccented) notes that are played across the grid (1-e-and-uh-2-e-and-uh 3, etc.) that fill in the musical gaps. Personally defined, they are the added flavoring that makes good drumming taste even better! Calvin is so quick and effortless with it, that you almost can't see what he's doing...but you know he's doing something and something has to be there bc it's a continuous, melodious, rhythmic movement musically...thus the term, ghost notes.
