2002 CBR1100XX 34.K miles
If you help the tensioner spring with a pocket screwdriver, cam chain noise goes away. But it won't hold adjustment on it's own.
We installed an APE manual cam chain adjuster cbrzone.com/ten...
But not without removing the valve cover to verify cam timing after the install.

The CCT is a spring loaded rod, OEM CCT's comes with a shitty spring that has a short term life, instead of just selling the spring alone they make you buy the entire assy wich costs between 80-100$, best solution to this is to buy an APE manual cam tensioner for about 40$ the only bug about this is that you have to adjust the tensioner yourself once in a while, but compared to 80$ every 20,000miles for a new CCT I think is really worth it, I have them installed on my bikes.

Ogeid Zelop did you check cheap cycle parts? I just ordered a couple of springs for my sv650 the chain isnt making noise but ill replace the springs just for peace of mind.

if your xx is older the slider can get stuck in position you need to use a screw driver to move the cct plunger forwards by about 1/2 a turn and then let it relax and maybe repeat it 4 times i did this and my noise is gone also if you cct is older and the clockspring is weak you can take it apart and turn the innards and give the clockspring 2 more turns to get more pressure fixed pressure tensioners are just that either too hard or too soft

What year is this blackbird. I took my fairing off to try this but I have a bolt where the tensioner is.. DO I NEED TO REMOVE THE BOLT. PLEASE HELP

8mm or 10mm cap bolt remove it ,with the engine off use a small flat head wind it up clockwise ,then let it go this will reset the lifter inside , but best to buy OEM on this part , its a spring loaded ratchet system inside , clicks out but not back in -cheers

Can't understand all this camchain tensioner issue ! I don't want to temp fate here but my bird has done 45000 miles it's the carburettor model and I've had it from new ! It gets thrashed REGULARLY . I run it on silkolene pro 4 plus fully synthetic oil. ..21years old this bike and apart from a rectifier which was done under warranty the bike has been TROUBLE FREE !!!!!!

@@wiskytom4386 well wisky tom ! This is unreal because as I write this I'm drinking Johnny walker red whisky ! And all that's changed with my bird is that it's done another 1500 miles !!!! All the best wisky tom ! P. S. Can't afford Johnny walker blue ! Haha !

Its peacose you rade your bike normaly and change oil regulary, agresive style of riding distroys cam chain. And he (cam chain)gets streched and starts maiking noise then thensioner can't do his job You put New chain and resolve the problem

@@MrVukovicivan I'm very glad you're not my mechanic Ivan :) I ride my XX's hard, and I also make sure that fluids are changed regularly. Other than changing the CCT, I've had no mechanical issues in the 21+ years I've owned the XX. That said, I've had numerous electrical / electronic, some common faults on the XX

The only thing you have to do, is turn this screw clockwise, and disapear the problem.

What do you mean ? Turning it clockwise turns tensioner in, therefore releasing tension of the chain.

@@no0neX then you release it and problem solves as it slams back on the slider and it tensions the chain. I hope I understood that well

Only how you can fix is to get New chain and install it, xx is eating chains cant last more then 40k km

@@MrVukovicivan opruga u spaneru oslabi vremenom ali ako je nategnes pa naglo opustis ona udari u klizac lanca i pogura ga te nategne lanac vise nego sto ga je natezala polagano bez udara. Ali to je privremeno rjesenje

If the noise is ignored, eventually the cam chain can jump a tooth and throw the valve timing off. A valve can come in contact with the piston. We installed an APE manual cam chain adjuster cbrzone.com/tensioners.html But not without removing the valve cover to verify cam timing after the install.
