Our guest this week is our neighbor on The Brooklyn Nets, Cam Johnson. It's not typical that such a young player has so much insight into the NBA. We're pumped for this episode so let's get into it. Topics include: The UNC North Carolina vs. Duke rivalry, Team USA's loss in the FIBA World Cup, what he learned from Monty WIlliams and why he thinks The Detroit Pistons will shine under him, an in depth conversation about intricacies of shooting a basketball, when he realized Devin Booker is the real deal, what he expects from Mikal Bridges, Ben Simmons and The Brooklyn Nets this season and so much more.
Subscribe to The Old Man and The Three podcast w/ JJ Redick (ESPN / First Take) and Tommy Alter KZfaq channel today for more NBA analysis, player interviews and highlights.

No idea how he is as a person, but I LOVE the energy he brought. You can clearly feel that he loves basketball, wants to win to the point where it's clearly unhealthy, and he likes the game so much he has to hold himself back from exerting his basketball energy from being socially unacceptable. Zero pretension.

I usually enjoy your shows JJ but this one was great. Even though you got plenty of vitriol for your cockiness in college and all that nobody sees the preparation you put in, etc. So hearing you and Cam talk from the cerebral perspective was enriching. I liked you more as a pro then I did in college. This was an awesome interview to hear you both get technical and talk about so much more of the mental aspect of the game. It is inherent in sports or other physical activity, military, etc., for you to think through movements and building muscle memory and still have the ability for independent thought and improvisation.
