Habría sido bueno probar el Cambridge con las Marten y ver que tanto suena peor o mejor el conjunto Marten/Cambridge en relación al conjunto Marten/Accuphase, esto porque, si las pruebas científicas no se equivocan, que de fijo no… entre dos amplificadores de buena calidad, que deben ser transparentes y neutrales, que no deben aportar ni quitar nada a la fuente, no debería haber diferencias, cuando menos no audibles, si las hay, uno de los dos es malo, punto, pero lo de los altavoces es otra cosa, ahí si que pueden haber y de hecho las hay, enorme diferencias; en cuanto a las antojadizas remasterizaciones de MoFi, sin duda todas presentan realces en agudos y graves, tanto por EQ como por compresión, ya que al comprimir para ganar nivel, siempre se realzan los extremos y si de por sí, ya se habían realzado con EQ… Buen video como siempre y como siempre mi like y mis cordiales saludos!

OMG I have been following you for almost 2 years and have been considering the Accuphase E-4000 with AD 60 phono module and the Technics SU-R1000 because they have a built in phono stage. We have Martin Logan 13A Expression ESL and a Pro-ject RPM 10 Carbon turntable with Sumiko Blackbird HO cartridge. I did a very deep dive into all integrated amplifiers at around the $10,000 price point that have a built in phono stage and one that did not from all the recommended ones by German Stereoplay magazine and to my amazement all had specs, specifically S/N ratio for MM and MC stages, WORSE than what we have now! Several were equal for the MM stage but far worse for the MC stage. Soundstage measured the Michi X5 integrated and in every parameter it exceeded the manufacturer’s claims in the best possible way, but was let down by the phono stage. I even entertained Musical Fidelity’s top integrated and thought I would add their phono stage and it turned out that according to their measurements it did NOT meet the manufacturer’s claims in many areas and to tell you that I find that off putting is an understatement. Stereoplay’s list is called Rang und Namen and ranks a piece by sound quality first and then for value meaning sound against the asking price; below the first number is sound the second for sound of the DAC and the last the value. The reason I am looking is I am seeking something with a bit more oomph. We have the Marantz Reference Integrated PM 11S3 which works but is laid back. None of the pieces below improved on what we already have in terms of specs for the built in phono stage. ■ Technics SU-R1000 62|-|61 90 ■ Rotel MICHI X5 60|-|61 88 ■Musical Fidelity M8Xi 59|- 60 88 (no phono stage) ■ Luxman L-507Z 62 89 I also looked at this Esoteric F-05; no improvement. I was aware of the Edge A integrated but it has no phono stage. This means another box plus another interconnect. Cambridge makes much of their dual toroidal transformers but nowhere on their site is the size given. We have a saying in our family and it is “reading teachers do not read” meaning carefully! My wife teases me about this all of the time. In this instance I did read carefully and simply could not find the specs. Here from the CODA website regarding an amplifier they are selling: CODA amplifier; Transformer Rating: 3kVA, Power Filtering: 280,000 F For comparison purposes only, the total in the Michi X5 Series 2 is 88,000 F They too use two toroidal transformers. Do you have any information regarding the transformer rating of the Edge W (combined) and the power filtering? Lastly and most importantly based on sound alone how does it compare to the E-4000 and the SU-R1000? The reason I am being so careful is I am 74 years old and this would be an end game purchase for us but boy I hate mixing and matching! We have 1,500 LP’s so if there if you can recommend a phono stage that matches its character I would be grateful. Talk about synchronicity I was just last night reading reviews about the same piece; it was on my radar. Thank you in advance for your attention and keep up the great work!

Hola Fran, has señalado dos temas que un audiófilo no va a poder olvidar si lo escucha, la mejora el sonido de tu equipo cuando te acercas al 0.4 de reverberación de sala y los altavoces que tienen la capacidad de lanzarte casi hasta el oído algunos sonidos agudos ,mientras otros suenan al fondo.

Para los poco cacharreros, tener que instalarle un previo de Phono debe ser un chasco y mas si la factura de tu equipo sube. Tampoco controles de tono que almenos accuphase si lleva. Pero quitando estas "Pijadas" es una buena maquina, sencillo diseño y versatilidad. Gracias Francisco por el análisis . Ah, una cosa , el Denon 110 aniversario también lleva doble transformador😅

La memoria auditiva que parece efímera, con las Marten ha quedado bien grabada. Eso suele pasar con lo que no nos podemos permitir. Sólo una pregunta ¿las JBL L 100 Mk2 son mucho mejores que las L 100 sencillas? O es mercado tecnia. Gracias Francisco por lo que nos enseñas y aprendemos.

Es un amplificador bellísimo por fuera pero normalito por dentro. Vamos, que no lo considero hi-end. Tampoco es que sea un timo ya que su precio es comedido para lo que se gasta hoy en día cuando de primer nivel se habla.
