I lived in Leeuwarden for 2 years a great small town and I still go back there today , De Oss my favourite hangout or Repelsteltje basically a 3 floored house turned into a coffeeshop , great people and a team who were always in div 2 when I was there . Loved this well done for the making !

Beside Ajax & Feyenoord, Cambuur & Heerenveen there is one match which is even bigger between 2 clubs. Spakenburg vs Ijselmeervogels. 2 clubs from the same town. There is so much hate on each other that families won’t even talk for multiple weeks before or after the match. You also made a great video about that!

Good to see a derby so unknown in other countries caught the attention of Copa90. To be honest, I Copa90 should've mentioned something about the accident at the last training of Cambuur before the derby. The dark side of these derbies needs to be showed aswell IMO. Derbies can be beautiful inside the stadium but outside it too often a mess.

To be honest, I'm glad that at least Copa90 didn't. I know its horrible if something like that happens, but stressing this too much in the media only works contraproductive to the effect of the derby on itself and diverts the audience from understanding the phenomenon to causing useless outrage for some extra Telegraaf subscriptions. If you ask me, Copa90 are actually a class act by NOT mentioning it (And I'm no Cambuur nor Heerenveen fan)

+Tim Vergoossen You may have a point but all I wanted to see was a small mention about it. Not like a 2 minute worth of footage. It creates a whrong image about what really happend at the pre-game training. So I'm still not convinced that it shouldn't be mentioned. Hooliganism is a big problem in Holland so don't hide it and show it you're against it as Copa90. They could've made a statement but they refuse to do so because of what? Views? This derby is far from the idealistic derby. I've heard many stories about this derby and not one of them is about the game itself.

At the same time Yes, they will deny it, cause Heerenveen stand for eveything that signifies Friesland and if a Cambuur fan will tell you he's from Friesland. 9/10 times people tend to say: oh so ur a Heerenveen fan? which Cambuur fans really hate.

Another great piece by Copa90 again. Great insight into another derby/rivalry. Is it my understanding that Heerenveen is smaller than Cambuur which is based in the main province of Leeuwarden? However they are unhappy due to the identity of Friesland?

Leeuwarden is the capital of this province where Cambuur is based, but the club has been struggling in second division for years. The weird thing is people from Leeuwarden don't want to identify themselves as Frisians and some even claim to hate them. Complicated story in a nutshell

You see the big difference: dkv is talking about sportive succes, the stadium and the misunderstanding that Cambuur is jealous. Ask them what remains of the club without these factors.....nothing.

Very nice vid! I'm a Cambuur supporter myself and also a proud Frisian. The most people don't care about the Dutch/Frisian language thing, in fact a lot of people in the Cambuur stadion also speak Frisian. Where just rivals because were both from the same Province. Heerenveen is the better club, Cambuur has the fanatic fans.

Heerenveen had an average of 18500 supporters in the season 19/20 with a capacity of 24000.. Cambuur had an average of 8300 supporters in the season 19/20 with a capacity of 10500. So the difference isn't that big..

@@jasper549 a hahahahahaha the numbers of Heerenveen are not true that’s already confirmed. The visitors of Heerenveen had a decline of 40% since 2000/2001 that’s the biggest decline in they entire league. So that’s proves Heerenveen have the worst supporters

@@reza_058_9 those are the numbers which are officially registrated. At the lower ranked clubs there are around 15/16 thousand fans in the stadium and the higher ranked clubs 23/24 thousand. The township of Leeuwarden counts 123 thousand villagers and they can't reach an average of 10 thousand visitors per match..

You need to visit TOP Oss vs FC Den Bosch but now is not the right time because there are no away supporters allowed in away matches till 2021 so at the moment its called de dode derby translated the death derby its defenitly worth a visit but I would say visit it 2021 for a extra intens rivalry and maybe a bit of riots but thats normal at a derby isnt it:)

+Dennis Smit Know your facts Dennis. Only the first two are real derby's and can't be compared with this derby of derby's. Only our "brothers" with other colors in Deventer (Go Ahead Eagles) knows a bit how this is. They got almost the same hate with their rivalry with Zwolle, the "Heerenveen club" of Overijsel.

I know my facts. The other 3 are not really derby's, I know that. But there is a really intens and dangerous atmosphere during the games and the hate between the fans is big. Thats why I named those in this list. I know it's not like de klassieker or the Friesland derby, but in my opinion it are really interesting games. And yes, the other 2 are the real, but very small derby's

Yeah i find it a bit sad as well but its probably because its a home match for cambuur and away for Heerenveen so i hope they will comeback next time its in Heerenveen.

Leuk om te zien dat de technisch directeur van dkv niet het echte verhaal kent, dit verhaal gaat al terug naar de van Camminga's die met hun slot Cambuur tegen Friesland vocht, Clubhistorie van Cambuur gaat dieper dan vele mensen weten. Laten we eerlijk zijn en zeggen dat Cambuur Leeuwarden het mooiste club heeft van het noorden. ook al zakken we weg, onze supporters zijn ver weg beter dan dertig km verder op. This can be compaired to sometime we have in the south, we have 3 clubs in a 50km region(Roda JC Kerkrade, MVV Maastricht and Fortuna Sittard), 2 are currently playing in the second tier of dutch football, and 1 in the first (yes there is 1 more in the province,vvv-venlo. but they are about 70-75km away) they don't like eaother either, all have there own dialect, and the games are always fun (inside and outside the stadium) 1 ofthe second tier clubs has a change to play first tier next year if they manage to win the play offs. and the team in the first tier is currently fighting against religation.

You should attend the Gelderse derby Vitesse Arnhem - Nec Nijmegen. The rivalry is huge. Or you should go to Vitesse - De Graafschap the other Gelderse derby but this rivalry is less than Vitesse - Nec and mostly lives by the Graafschap fans.

+Alexandro Toch altijd meer mensen dan bij de meeste clubs zoals nec / de graafschap / cambuur etc.Plus mensen moeten eens ophouden en naar de media te luisteren want het is wel degelijk sfeervol in het gelredome. En ja ik ben bij vele andere clubs geweest. De slechtste sfeer is in de kuip. Vitesse zit echt bij de betere.
