This is the best show in all of history EVER made, no show can ever have any shot in hell of surpassing this one. This show couldn't possibly be any better, it's perfect, every single moment of it. Every single actor in it was chosen because each of them was meant for this. They are all perfect, what drew me in the most was especially the one that plays King Arthur, they picked a perfect actor by choosing Jamie Bower. He plays the part so well, and looks so natural at it. The story, music, cast

Just finished watching the 2 hour pilot and it was fantastic. If you like Spartacus then this will be right up your alley. Also, Eva Green is hot as hell.

Saw the first 3 episodes, looks very promising, may be the best Arthurian adaptation yet in tv or movies. Good acting and production values, Merlin is a bit different, and certainly some changes from other versions, but I was impressed. I hope it doesn't get canceled.

@JOVANNENAD in some legends morgan le fey was arthurs half sister and that is the most accepted version, so it makes sense that they would go that route to create the proper conflict between them.

Oh that's so true. Camelot is good because of those two actors (actually started watching it because of the guy who plays Merlin who also played the main guy in Flashward), but Game of Thrones is in another league of its own.

@dblueroom Morgan was the daughter of Lord Cornwall and Lady Igraine. King Uther Pendragon essentially had Cornwall killed and took Igraine for himself, later siring Arthur with her. So, Morgan grew up despising Arhur for what Uther had done and essentially becomes the main antogonist trying to bring down his rule. I'm not sure how starz will spin the story so I don't want to give away an spoilers... Enjoy the series!

This is a very good series so far. Pretty well written, great cast, awesome set and costumes, I'm not yet attached to it like I am with other new series like The Borgias but I watch it every week. And comparing it to the BBC show Merlin is like comparing Doctor Who to Battlestar Galactica, don't bother, they are different entities and are quite able to co-exist without the world crumbling to dust.

Hmm sounds good! I'll watch the first episode now. I wish they get A LOT of inspiration in King Arthur book triology by Bernard Cornwell. That, my friends, is the epic and best tale of Arthur.

The much shorter advert for this was on yesterday; it looks alright and i think i'll deffinitely give it a try. I mean, i LOVE the Merlin series, but there's no harm in watching someone elses take on the story of King Arthur . . . with all it's nude scenes and apparent sexiness. LOL All the same, not much is likely to beat Bradley James and Colin Morgan's portryal, even if that storyline massively varies from the actual tale, too.

@nathaniel497 The Folks Behind The Tudors Are Already Gearing Up A Similar Show Called The Borgias Which Stars Jeremy Irons. It Takes Place During The Itallian Renessance. But Camelot Definately Looks Like It Will Deliver. The Pilot Was Pretty Good.

@DeadmanCX7, I was disapointed in the first half of the season finale. The Fall of the Original Camelot under Arthur's Father was anti-climatic. After they wasted a whole LOTR show on the original siege of Camelot once I expected more.

@frenchyManUTD1989, yeah apparently they needed a major series to counter Game of Thrones in HBO. So they picked up Camelot as a Cable, more matur & ambitious version of the the current Merlin series in TV.

@uruloki2k Also this angst about the casting of King Arthur. I think there are a lot of people who haven't watched the series or ever read any versions of the Arthurian legends because he is supposed to be a boy. I did laugh at the idea of Colin Farrell as King Arthur in this series though, maybe 20 years ago...

I'm aware that in this show Merlin is a warrior with magic, probably like the Arthurian legend portrays him, unlike the goofy and adorable Merlin in "Merlin". Well, it's just the first ep... ^^,

@maaneblomme Eh...I bet he still shows up. The name they're using for the love rival is Leontes (your random Shakespearian "sounds good" title). It only shares one letter, and Lancelot is too big a figure in public awareness to dump him. In Le Morte D'Arthur, Lancelot doesn't show up for a while anyway, and I can see them pulling that in as a cliff-hanger or "watch this!" episode: "Who ARE you, sir knight?" "Milady, I am called Lancelot du Lac." *Flash to Guinevere looking horny* Dun DUN!

@hempsax1 I see, if the line passes from King Uther, then Morgan's claim to the throne was a bit far stretch. She was an agitator then. Well if i choose, Eva green or the blonde, then definitely go with Eva green. I think in medieval time a 14 year old would look much mature especially after fighting in the army. interesting cast...

@Amjustalady Merlin is a British show, Camelot is an american show, Merlin is a General audience rated show, Camelot is not a family show, it's way to explicit to be. The 2 show are not directed towards the same audience.

I dunno. Still kind of doubting that Lance and Leontes are the same guy. Lance's name is only usually changed by newer authors trying to "welsh" up the tradition, or put their own mark on it (damn thee and thy homosexual overtones, Bradley!) It's possible, I suppose, but Arthur stealing Guinevere from Lancelot rather than the other way around would be a complete inversion of the tradition, and as the love triangle was a big reason Logres fell in Le Morte D'Arthur....

@2ndStoreyStairwells They're 2 Totally Different Versions Of The Same Legend. Merlin Is Modeled After Smallville, Has Greater Emphasis On Magic Than Any Other Arthurian Adaptation I Can Think Of, Takes Several Liberties (Which Have All Been Perfectly-Executed) With The Traditional Lore & Is The Kind Of Show Everyone Can Watch. Camelot On The Other Hand Is Going To Be A Much More Darker Version & Not Suitable For Kids As It's Got Strong Violence & Sex Scenes. Merlin Is Great & Camelot Will Also.

@catchlightdame I know who worte the book and I have read it many time, his name is Sir Thomas Mallory and the name of the book is "le Morte D'Arthur" and I know A LOT about the legend. I also KNOW that "MERLIN" did not come up with the Arthurian legend, DUH! All i'm saying is that it says "original series" and starz ONLY created this series due to the sucess "Merlin" is having. That's all!

@svartekaptenen There were actually. When the Romans occupied Britain many different races crossed our shores, including black people, and not just as slaves but also tradespeople. Britain may look very white from an uneducated perspective but we've had literally thousands of years of multi-cultural action going on. After all, Shakespeare didn't have travel to Africa just to write Othello.

@AussieEvil88 Actually the black people who were in Britain at that time are believed to have varied from slaves to traders. During the roman occupation many races ended up over here and although it's rare (thus the fact that there are only a couple of black people on the show) they were around. Let's not forget, slavery has plagued ths world for thousands of years and in those days they weren't uniquely black people.

@OrdoPsykana Agreed ! The music just don't fit in, because there's no sense of an epic historic drama. To get the emotional intensity required for the genre, they would have had to choose either heavy classical music or a metal/hardcore style soundtrack. That show definitely doesn't look as hot as Spartacus and is not intended for an adult audience or just barely... Xena's show looked hotter than that some 15 years ago and only with PG-13 scripts ! WTF ?!
