Camera Update Fix!? Galaxy S24 Ultra vs. iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera Test. Daytime & Nighttime Testing.

So now that Samsung has finally released their latest February update that supposedly fixed the camera issues with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, I figured this is the best time to conduct my Camera Test! For this test, I'll be testing both the iPhone 15 Pro Max and S24 Ultra, specifically in dark gloomy daytime whether and the nighttime setting. I will test each Camera lens in both 4K video and photography with a simple point and shoot method.

this is my third time getting a Samsung Ultra. i could not completely switch to Samsung due to their inconsistent camera. I feel like samsung is always a couple years behind when it comes to video recording, low light photos, HDR, camera zoom smoothnes and color balance. i was really expecting more from the s24 ultra due to its specification, but iPhones video and image processing is just way ahead than a lot of phones out there. Unfortunately, the s24 Ultra's video quality is comparable to the iPhone 14 and even 13.

I hVe both. And i prefer iphone 15 pro max for day time shoot and for low light videos i prefer s24 ultra. Audio is better on samsung but it is irrelevant as i use an external mic

Even when HDR is turned off, Samsung tries to take photos as if HDR was on, which disrupts the color and light accuracy in the photos. Samsung needs to fix this.

Great video! I think it really does depend on the person and what they prefer. In my opinion, some iPhone photos are darker than what I would prefer like that one tree which was much brighter on the S24. But to each their own 😊

This was a great video. I know some people try to cherry-pick the results to show where Samsung wins, and the S24 Ultra IS a great camera, but the reality as someone who uses these is that the iPhone has simply the best overall camera this year. It's amazing, very hard to take a bad shot. It's still not the top for versatility, but for quality, can't beat it. It's the phone I will take on our vacation to Colorado Springs to capture the hike to Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge zip line, Garden of the Gods tour, hot air balloon ride, etc. Why? Because I know it will shoot consistently and with high quality to produce shots that are realistic and capture the memories best. Also, can't understate how big a deal that 24MP mode is this year - not only does it add detail, it acts as natural noise reduction, replacing noise with more detail!

It's funny because the second you do blind comparisons nobody knows which phone took the pucture/video. And i mean nobody it is hard to tell so that means yhat all of these phones have improved immensely and we are the winners here who get to chose from a variety of great phones. @jegayer Yeah, I understand. I've never used an iPhone. I just don't like it mainly because of the back button. I use the 5x zoom a lot when shooting portraits. Do you know how many megapixels the 15 Pro Max telephoto (5x) lens has?

@@orepaunovic2189 heheheh. True, this is not a cheap device, you're right. I think sometimes the hype behind them are bigger them and that makes thing a little frustrated. At the end, they are phones pretending to be cameras and what they deliver doesn't match what they promise. Well, I'd try the iPhone. What I could say is that they are better cameras but worse smartphone. The balance seems to be on Google pixel. Pixels are better cameras than Galaxy's in my opinion. Anyway, unfortunately they are not perfect and in each different model we need to compromise something.

amazing comparison, apart from the fact that Android is more convenient for me, these flares in iphones are terribly irritating. otherwise, I believe that this is a phone that gives more repeatable results and is the least likely to take a tragic photo. As for movies, Samsung already has good stabilization, but the colors are not as they should be.

While the S24 Ultra and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 may be more raw powerful, those points are at ABSOLUTE PEAK, unsustainable power consumption. iPhone can get more out of a power-capped scenario.

I actually believe the s24ultra is even with the iPhone in terms of camera Basically everything is the same for the average user. Videos will look the same on both, night photos, but the thing with Samsung is you get a lot more control like “camera assistant” to make images less oversharpened and give you faster shutter speed

Bruh I just returned the S24 ultra yesterday. It’s not the same my man! I have a 14pro max and it’s just shocking that that has better video quality and this was a decision I made after waiting for the so called magic update for the Samsung , only to find that it didn’t fix sh*t. I don’t understand why Samsung keeps overexposing in all its videos. Also the auto exposure jumps so much that it’s so noticeable. The only thing I enjoyed over my iPhone 14 Pro Max was that 5x Zoom, but the 15pro max has that.

The problem with these comparisons is that none of them show the iPhone video recording and played back in Dolby Vision. That makes such a huge impact that it blows the Samsung out of the water. For stills, there’s a lot shots where the iPhone wins dramatically. Samsung definitely took a step back from the S23 Ultra

I've compared the s24 ultra to my previous s23 ultra and to the 15 pro max. It came out better than both phones. Video id still give the slightest edge to the iphone as it takes low light videos a bit better.

Your not understanding my words lol. I said the iPhone had better hdr and accurate coloring, but I still prefer the S24U landscape photography which is my subjective opinion. Sounds like your bias and upset I didn't praise the s24u. At the end of the day both have their strengths and weaknesses. However, I can say with confidence and objective truth that the iPhone has a better camera system for the average consumer. For those using Pro features either phone works as you can achieve more flexible results. Plus, just go on Twitter and see the numerous s24u comparisons by Pro photographers. The s24u is underperforming

Iphone got better dynamic range, video shows 0 information in shadows.

Dynamic range also means controlling the highs as well as the lows. For Wide Angle and Ultra-wide the iPhone was slightly better and very close to real life. The S24U was a bit overexposed, thus the grain. The S24U did better with their telephoto lens for video. For photos the S24U was superior with Ultra-wide. Everything else was a tie or super close

Also I remind you that it's on its second firmware update and there is plenty to be done with that hardware. iPhone 15 was a mess at its first firmware.

Yeah the zoom is now the same and the skin tone of iphones are better than Samsung and Samsung selfie camera is not that great it gives yellowish photos and in the back camera the white balance is off and the cooler and magenta tone is just bad. The little warmer iphone tone is just perfect
