The sense I get of this movie is that it's one of those that are not in the teaching profession would think it's a terrible and offensive depiction of teachers, while those in that profession would say "Yep, seen that, done that, 100% spot on."

It’s ‘accurate’ in how abysmal most teachers conduct themselves and dress and how generally near-autistic they are but it’s hella inaccurate in depicting them as having any kind of interdepartmental or even intradepartmental camaraderie - most teachers are eager to tear other teachers down and keep the little fires of petty rivalries burning . . . 🙄

@@fletcherhamilton3177 Not true. I am not a teacher, but all the teachers I have worked with are overworked and underappreciated. They are VERY hard workers and they care. You can't not work with kids and care.

Most schools I substitute in have really strict dress codes posted that nobody follows. One school I went to had a more realistic version that reflected what is actually enforced: a stick figure with shorts and crop top, and said "Make sure these areas are covered." Most schools I see don't care. My only request is that, if you're in a chemistry lab doing stuff with acids, please wear an actual shirt. And closed-toed shoes, but can't ask the students to do that when the teacher (not me) wore flip-flops literally every single day.
