I remember watching this game, live. These are 2 physical teams. the most yellow and red cards ever in a tournament. it was a slugfest. many of these guys almost engaging in real fights. i wish someone would post the whole game.

I became a football fan because of THIS match. Believe it or not. I fell in love with the Mannschaft because of this performance. I was 11 years old back then. Thank you for sharing this video. :-)

There is only one national team in football that is called the »Mannschaft« in the world. And that is the national team of Germany. It is a synonym like »Three Lions« for England, »Squadra Azzurra« for Italy or »Seleção« for Brazil. Cameroons football team are the »Lions Indomptables« which translates into »Indomitable Lions«.

I know but It's created by marketing companys and the media for facebook and didnt't emerge from itself long astablished like "squadra azzurra" or your examples so it isn't of the same value and it won't prevail (well atleast in germany). no one i know calls Germanys team that way and this wont change. to sum up: It's plastic...

+LennnYLennerT Yes and No. Yes, no one in Germany calls the team »Mannschaft« and the term was created by officials of the German Football Association (DFB) just before 2014. But here comes the flip side of the coin: As a matter of fact, especially French media have called the German team »Le Mannschaft« for two or three decades. That was one of the reasons why DFB came up with the idea to call the national team like that. So let's sum it up as half-plastic ;-)

Wow, it's kind of strange to see that game in such a nice HD quality since you always see old footage in much worse quality which makes it seem old, but this looks so... don't know how to describe :D I think you all know what I mean

Niklas Chx i think this is how we remember watching it back then live. The problem is nearly all recorded footage was on vcr so converting that back in to digital makes it look old. This video was probably from a digital archive fifa had stored so looks good.

It quite insane how poor a team Germany actually was for reaching all the way to the final.... but it's clearly evident Oliver Kahn had one of the greatest World Cup's any keeper has ever had.

Pagliuca, Goicochea, Dino Soff, Peter Schmihel, Ikea Casillas, Jorge Campos, Jose Luis Chilabert, and I can keep going, were as good as this guy, some were better for sure.

@@apachedr34 ikea Casillas lul Also, yes, there have been many other great goalkeepers. But Kahn was on the peak of his performance at this point of time and was the outstanding player of this team. It's no coincidence he was later voted player of the tournament, which has never been achieved by a goalkeeper before.

I'm cameroonian and i'm agree with you. I remember this game and when i saw Olembe lonely with Kahn, i though exactly of Caniggia goal against Brazil in 1990. This cameroonian team was the best ever. The best ever in Africa with 1994 Nigeria team. The problem is that our federation made a very bad organisation of our team and all the players were so tired for this tournament. We used to play the final against Brazil. What a shame!!!!!

Pertandingan menentukan di babak akhir grup. Sebelum pertandingan ini, federasi sepakbola jerman sudah memberikan pengumuman Voller tidak akan dipecat jika dia gagal membawa tim ke babak selanjutnya. Federasi sudah pesimis akan tim ini dan lebih memilih konsentrasi di 2006. Tapi nyatanya tim ini berhasil memenangkan pertandingan ini bahkan dengan 10 orang bisa mencetak 2 gol, dan melangkah lebih jauh sampai ke final. Tiga pemain andalannya Kahn, Klose dan Ballack. Sayang salah satu dari trio ini tidak bermain di final. 😣😣😣

This Cameroon Jersey was awesome!!! It's absurd that FIFA made a big deal out of itand forced them to wear undershirts. In many ways, this jersey could've pioneered a no-sleeve football jersey movement, it's a shame that FIFA didn't see the vision. Even the NBA was open to short sleeves on jerseys.
