When Camila was 7, she and her mother migrated to America with nothing but the clothes on their back. They had to be apart from her father for a whole year as he waited for a visa acceptance but it just wasn’t happening. Finally, he risked his life and swam across a river and travelled for days so their family could be together. Her parents worked so hard for the next years so she could have the opportunities she does, and it’s so beautiful how she is paying them back and making them proud and never letting the world forget how grateful she is for her parents ❤️

I'm crying so hard right now. I just heard this for the first time. I'm getting married in a month and I wish my father deserved to dance with me to this song, but that honor will go to my grandfather who can no longer walk. I look forward to dancing with him while he's unfortunately in a wheelchair. My "dad" will be watching, and I hope he listens to the lyrics, realizing what he squandered for drugs and alcohol.

It was fairytale amazing. We were lucky enough to have his dementia be on the back burner for the most part that day. He held me so tight, tighter the than he's ever held me before.. and he held me pretty tight when my older sister who was 13 months older than me passed away unexpectedly 9 years ago. So he's held me pretty tight before. I don't think I've ever cried as much as I did that day but they were mostly happy tears. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house when we were dancing with each other and people were listening to the words to this song. We were able to get a bunch of pictures and a projector setup to play behind us on a screen, so it was even more sad than you can imagine, but also so beautiful. They write movies about stuff like this. It was unbelievable. Thank you so much for asking, and I think it's amazing that so many people liked my comment to begin with. Good bless you all!

My dad passed away when I was 23. He always had such a hard time saying those three words. But I know now why it was so hard for him. His dad never said it to him. My dad had depression and PTSD from the Vietnam War practically his whole life and never recieved the help he needed. But he tried SO hard to show love in his own ways, and I know he loved me. And I love him, and I always will.

I wish I danced to this song with my Dad at my wedding. My Dad is so kind, supportive, loving, funny, considerate... even when I've made huge mistakes he's always been there for me like nobody else in my life. I sent this song to him (her performance at the Grammys) and it made him so happy. She really did a beautiful job capturing that special bond that a father and daughter can have.

I love my father but this song makes me cry for what i didnt have from him. It makes me wonder how my life would have been had he showed love, affection, and emotion to me growing up. He was the old school provider dad. He went to work and paid the bills but never really paid attention to me. I have spent my whole life first loving emotionally unavailable men and now trying to repair those wounds and learn to love myself.

Such a beautiful song that really does hit you emotionally when you really listen to the words. I grew up without my dad, my mum left for another man but my dad is everything to me. I've almost lost him 3 tes, 1st time I was 17 he had a major heart attack on his 41st birthday. Second one not long after and the 3rd led to a quadruple almost 14yrs ago. I'm now 36yrs old and know he won't have much longer left with us now as the operation was to extend his life but not fix his heart. It's fathers day and it always hits me.... Is this the last I get with him so the song makes me highly emotional. I've always said a girls one true love is her father. Happy fathers day to all fathers, those present, not present through no fault of their own and those that have lost.

Stumbled across this song on Instagram and it had me in tears. I lost my dad when I was 12 years old and there’s so much that’s happened that I wish he’d been there for. Now I have a little girl and I wish nothing but for her to have her dad through all life’s big moments and that he shows her the love that she deserves from a man.
