I’ve got it. This mansion was build before the villager/pillager schism. This village represents a faction who don’t believe in the same extent as other villagers in the religious cult that caused the shcism. As a result, despite hating one another for other, vaild reasons, the groups co-exist. The found this significant sight by the floating aquifers and took it as a sign by their gods that they should build here. They quickly learned why. The ancients had been here. And their ancients before them. The monuments here proved this. This was sacred. This was the way. Only way this seed gets better is if there’s a deep dark down there lmao
