This movie was everywhere when it came out so when I finally had watched it, felt like a breath of fresh air. I'm glad this brought back the vibe of late 80s-early 00s teen comedies with ridiculous unhinged but genuinely fun thought-out plots, overflowing chemistry in the cast, fun fashion styling that actually looks good, and minimal secondhand embarrassment. Movies like Heathers (the OG campy teens) , Jawbreaker!! (campy and you HAVE to see this one lmao), American Pie, Mean Girls, etc.

If you liked the chemistry between Maya Hawke and Camilla Mendes you should watch some of the interviews they did to promote the movie (I think generally everyone’s favorites are the Nosy Cookie Jar or Lie Detector Test, but there’s so many and they’re all good)

No cause this cast was so well done they took actors from super popular teen shows and ate it up

Sophie Turner's little sidekick as you called her was played by an actress called Eliza Bennet. Eliza Bennet was one of the stars of an excellent (but unfortunately short lived) show called Sweet/Vicious which was created by the writer/director of this movie. Honestly if you liked this movie and Buffy, Sweet/Vicious is definitely a show you should take a look at.

I liked this movie. It didn’t get a lot of publicity but it managed to be better than average. It was funny, snarky, and had a decent story throughout. It wasn’t perfect: there are a lot of twists/revelations that feel unearned but nothing disastrous.

I do wonder if SMG is playing Kathryn Merteuil as the Headmistress... It would explain the tone of the student body (sense of fashion, income requirements, etc.) as well as her attitude around such atrocious and even criminal behavior from the students! That would be the cherry on top of this delicious sundae of a movie! It is an homage to the very kind of movie you were talking about and even the soundtrack has songs from many of them! I heard that this was a pretty good movie, and that it was loosely inspired by the Alfred Hitchcock crime thriller Strangers On A Train.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson also brought us Sweet/Vicious, which was sadly canceled after one season, but something you might want to take a look at. Good show.

If your looking for a new show to react to, may I recommend Orphan Black staring the amazing Tatiana Maslany (who won an Emmy for this show). It has 5 seasons and they are starting a spin-off that will be released later this year called Orphan Black: Echo's staring Krystin Ritter.

I love the take that this also serves as a sorta loose sequel for Sarah Michelle Gellar's character from Cruel Intentions~^.^

I was never the type to scream when frustrated, but I did seize the opportunity to vent my jealous rage once in high school. I was playing tennis in gym class. Doubles. The kid at the net opposite me was the love interest of a girl I had a crush on. I overheard her say to a friend how much she liked him. The ball came to me and I RIFLED a blistering forehand right at him. Sadly, it hit the tape at the top of the net to save him. It was so forceful, it sounded like a firecracker when it hit. He stood there in shock for a moment, looking very intimidated. He steered clear of me and my DEATH stares from that point on. 😡😂 #TeenDrama

This was so fun. A lot of the sort of YA stuff on Netflix geared towards young people is super cringe, but this was really great.
