If you watched my first Camp Rock video ( • Camp Rock is Disney Ch... ) then you know I am a huge fan of this disney channel original movie. Unfortunately, the sequel is not as easy to love despite the returning cast of Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Alyson Stoner. Unfortunately, this installment of the franchise is a bit lacking in energy and is full of camp movie tropes that I just can't help but point out! Do you agree with my review on Camp Rock 2? Are we just going to ignore the fact that in the first movie the characters sang in realistic times (e.g. auditions, singing classes, performances, rehearsal) and in the second movie it's more of a traditional musical where characters unrealistically break into song and everyone goes with it? Because that has been annoying me since 2012

The second one feels like a sequel only in that they have the same cast... Mitchie doesnt feel like the same character, she's just Demi Lovato now and dresses and acts exactly like season 2 Sonny from Demi's disney show. Connect 3 forgot they met each other at Camp Rock and are not related, and in this movie are all British uncle's nephews, not just Shane. The Jonas brothers are the exact same character as they are in Jonas, and Tess just pressed the reset button on her character to rehash the same story beats. Okay but also..... Camp Rock was a movie with music, not a musical. The plot led to moments of singing that could actually happen in real life, like all of the little mini performances and concerts. Camp Rock 2, on the other hand, is a musical movie. I.e. they just burst out singing all together for no reason, and everyone magically knows the dance moves and lyrics. That's always bothered me. It's the difference between the plot leading to natural moments of singing and singing used solely as a plot device to further the story . Neither is bad, just have some continuity. Like at least High School Musical made it clear that is was a musical movie from the very start.

I thought they would’ve had a more classic Disney ending & combined the two groups into Camp Rockstar. Also if the camps are literally border to border, and if Camp Star’s goal was to run Camp Rock out of business, especially if they had the resources to buy out all of their staff, pay for a televised showcase, and text market to half of the northern region, a legitimate conflict could’ve been them trying to buy out the land Camp Rock was on, and then we could’ve gotten a musical imperialistic war scene instead of that unnecessary water fight

You're telling me that two teens texted for a whole year and that built up to nothing? What I noticed in this movie as well is that Demis voice in the first one was always "wow. I never heard such an impressingly good voice" and just sounded like every other basic Disney singer in the second one. Maybe it were the songs that she was given that didn't showcase her range or strength at all.

There's stuff that was supposed to to be obvious but only if you were a Jonas Brothers fan like Big Rob's cameo and Frankie Jonas and the junior rockers, now 10 years later it just doesn't make sense if you're watching it for the first time lol. As an 8th grader I freaked out tho

That song about cheese from Nick Jonas used to, and potentially still does, play in Walgreens and has made me laugh just about every time.

As someone who used to work for Walgreens for three years, I can tell you the Nick Jonas cheese song came on almost every single night and was confusing the first time I heard it since I hadn't watched Camp Rock 2. I hear that song and I still feel the compulsion to organize a row of shampoo and conditioner bottles years later. Also, it most definitely still plays in Walgreens. Heard it the other day I went in and I felt like I was having war flashbacks.

@@AlyxLeon No way! I also had no idea where the song came from LOL. The store I worked at bordered a retirement town, so we USED to play lots of oldies (from whacky beauts like "Flying Purple People Eater" to even "Roundabout" by Yes. It was awesome. Then the more centralized playlist came in and we get this cheese (but only on pizza, please)

i never realized how underwhelming the choreography is compared to high school musical's we're all in this together, all for one, what time is it, etc. Kenny Ortega really made those films with much more passion and it shows!

Or Twitches My favorite part of Twitches to make fun of is when the one sister immediately gets a job at the clothing store where she meets the other sister without a single interview process and just starts immediately working that day 😂
