These were original 40 acre lots that Patten Land Company layed out and there was a lake access lot, private one to use. Plus public boat launch on North shore that is easy to float your boat, take a swim, etc. Take your canoe up to the private lake association lot (DLPOA) and I can show you how close it is. Just a weekend here and there Terry? You're good. But long term, day in and out, weeks, months, you need to put in something to handle the grey water of a shower, kitchen sink, an outhouse or septic system to match usage. @@larryboyle590 You would be surprised at the couples buying who don't want to be too close to family. Sad but they will say if my kids call, you have never seen me okay? They want to be far enough away to not have company. Lots cheaper, larger sized and no traffic, lots of perks the further up into Maine you go!

Andy, is there a way to read the restrictions/rules of the HOA ? Are dogs allowed ? I am looking for property that has little excavation done so I can keep it as pristine as possible, cutting trees only as absolutely necessary. Thanks

Only guidelines to follow is no signs bigger than 1'x1', no commercial activity that would spoil other happy campers from their experience up to camp in Maine. You can have a travel trailer but no mobile homes... build or bring in a cabin or camp or construct a home. Pretty common sense. Nothing like an HOA with dictating the color, design or anything snarky. @@paulinlasvegas The problem is the Amish shun publicity, cameras, exposure and are very private. I have sold land to the Amish settlements in Smyrna, East Hodgdon. The local Amish create more of a camp series of simple structures. The Amish settlement in Easton, Fort Fairfield have some grander houses and barns. No mobile homes in the protective covenants but RV travel trailer campers, seasonal okay. We have a tiny home maker in Maine and it's founder lived a town away from this lake, grew up here!
