This specific kit does not require alignment - it is self-leveling, so you can literally glue the skeleton together for 10-15 minutes...

Please, where did you get the hand crank disk sander. This is perfect for the kind of modeling I do as I work primarily with hand tools. I've never seen a disk sander like this one. By the way, I enjoy and have learned so very much from your site. Thank you for starting it and keeping it going.

Do you know that there is a sand paper clean block? They are made out of something like the stuff used for crepe shoe soles. They work really well and make sand paper last a lot longer.

Yes, I have one, but I still prefer to replace the sandpaper. This is the kind of work where you should not save on materials...

Ольга здравствуй! Я так понял начало новой модели положено! У меня вопрос, сколько стоит этот набор? Ну хотя бы в у.е. Одна детализация форштевня чего стоит👍 . Обычно одной деталью, а здесь есть даже погибь палубы. Ну что, жду продолжения и удачи в работе, особенно в кастомайзинге! 🙂🌹

Срасибо! К сожалению цены я не знаю. Набор ещё находится на финальной стадии разработки. Если вы смотрели распаковку набора - у меня там есть образец медных пластин. Но на нем очень выпуклые гвозди. Производитель ещё работает над окончательной версией пластин...

@olhabatchvarov, when gluing parts like the keel and bulkheads, is it okay to just have noticeably less carbon on the mating surfaces of laser cut parts, or should they be completely cleaned of all carbon traces?

It has no effect on gluing. I sand it only on those parts that will be visible...

@@OlhaBatchvarov huh. Good to hear, but Lots of misinformation going around. A few modelers and some companies all say that the carbon prevents glue from sticking properly. You’re the first I’ve seen say differently. I’m mean, in this case, the proof is in the product. We’re watching you put this together, LOL!

Question: After you inserted the dowels through the bulkhead frames and glued them, how did you check the bulkheads to make sure they are remain perpendicular to the center keel? Is it just a visual check? Great work, as always! THANKS!!

Here in the UDA this kit markets at $1,500.00 use, on sale at $999.00. Is it worth the price? What makes it special?

This kit is designed so that you can build a very accurate model. Like from scratch but from a kit. It already has all the detailed drawings, so you don't have to waste another few hundred dollars on books or archival drawings... So far, from what I can see at this stage - this kit justifies its cost! And most importantly, it saves you a lot of time!

I started building a model as a test. That while this kit is at a final stage of manufacturing - it will be possible to correct errors if I find such. But this kit will soon be available to everyone in the official store and distributor stores...
