Without calcium supplementation, even very high vitamin D3 supplementation does not cause vascular calcification

has been shown to be completely safe when combined with approximately 200 µg vitamin K2

However, this knowledge is still not widespread in the medical community, and obsolete warnings about the risks of vitamin D3 overdoses unfortunately are still commonly circulating.
ARDS and cytokine release syndrome
Vitamin D3 is able to inhibit the underlying metabolic pathways
Vitamin D3 has a protective role against ARDS caused by SARS-CoV-2.
A rapidly increasing number of publications are investigating the vitamin D3 status of SARS-CoV-2 patients,
and have confirmed low vitamin D levels in cases of severe courses of infection
and positive results of vitamin D3 treatments
Conclusions
we recommend raising serum 25(OH)D levels to above 50 ng/mL (100 to 150 nmol/L)
to prevent or mitigate new outbreaks due to escape mutations or decreasing antibody activity.
At a time when vaccination was not yet available,
patients with sufficiently high D3 serum levels preceding the infection were highly unlikely to suffer a fatal outcome.
This correlation should have been good news when vaccination was not available but instead was widely ignored.
the lower threshold for healthy vitamin D levels should lie at approximately 125 nmol/L or 50 ng/mL 25(OH)D3,
which would save most lives, reducing the impact even for patients with various comorbidities.
This is-to our knowledge-the first study that aimed to determine an optimum D3 level to minimize COVID-19 mortality
Implications for herd immunity
It seems clear that a good immune defense,
does not prove protection against physical infection
but rather against its consequences
This “protection” was most effective at ~55 ng/mL
Traditionally living populations in East Africa have a mean serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentration of 115 nmol/l

natural vitamin D3 levels seen among traditional hunter/gatherer lifestyles,
in a highly infectious environment,
were 110-125 nmol/L (45-50 ng/mL)
WHO advice may not be correct
30 ng/mL D3 value considered by the WHO as the threshold for sufficiency
Future mutations of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, vaccine immune escape
the entire population should raise their serum vitamin D level to a safe level as soon as possible.
As long as enough vitamin K2 is provided, the suggested D3 levels are entirely safe to achieve by supplementation.
Selenium, magnesium, zinc, and vitamins A and E should also be controlled for and supplemented where necessary to optimize the conditions for a well-functioning immune system.
Next study
test PCR-positive contacts of an infected person for D3 levels immediately, i.e.,
before the onset of any symptoms,
and then follow them for 4 weeks and relate the course of their symptomatology to the D3 level,
the same result as shown above must be obtained

I have Ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel disease) that have been active for over 10 year. From covid-19 info on KZfaq I got information about vitamin D. I went to the doctor and measure vitamin D level, and I had a low level. Then I started one year ago to take vitamin D every day. After a couple of weeks I started to get better. After a couple of month the disease disappear (is inactive) .

Thank you very much for your comment about vitamin D3 helping with ulcerative colitis! It makes me hopeful about getting my acute episode under control with getting my vitamin D3 level checked and increasing my vitamin D3 level, if necessary.

I’m a plus size African American, and I’ve been on 10k IU of D3 daily since the beginning of this pandemic. Added 100mcg of K2 about 3 months ago. Not only have I not gotten even a basic cold, my fibromyalgia symptoms have dramatically subsided. My doctor…bless his heart…he did my blood work and cried about overdose, but I told him, I’m going to have to go my own way with this one. I’ve now had the best health during these past two years than ever!

I am slender, and I take 5000 IU per day. I have good D levels with that dose, but nowhere near toxic and probably still less than some would recommend. So my opinion is that you are doing a good thing. Maybe have your levels rechecked in a few months or a year.

Please take magnesium if you are taking vitamin D and K2. You will be Mg deficient. Mg makes vit d 'work'.

I am 86 years of age and take 12,000 IU a day of vitamin D3 and one K2 per 6000 IU of D3 at this time of year. I increase my D3 in winter to 18.000 IU a day. I can't remember the last time I had a cold or felt ill at all! I don't understand why D3 isn't investigated to reflect all the good it does for human health! You Sir, are providing a great and wonderful service to all who tune into your episodes!

Good to hear that! I started taking it ~6 yrs ago and haven't had any flu symptoms since, and this of course includes covid. (Have & will not take any substances into my body that are pushed heavily on us by our govts.) The reason for keeping vitamin D in darkness is that it'd destroy the current business model of the pharma complex (incl. national health institutions, as they're in bed with pharma).

I had severe Vitamin D deficiency and my dark skin color made matters worse. 5000 IU of Vitamin D3 has made a profound impact in quality of my life. Physically I feel more energized and mentally I feel more positive.

You gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers. 10000 UI at least for dark skin color, especially in the winter months. And blood test is king together with K2, Magnesium, Zinc and Boron, all co-factors!

My wife and kids have fairly dark skin (whereas I am a lovely shade of lobster 😂), so I give them some vitamin D every day during winter months. Cheap insurance to tip the odds in our favor.

The IOM folks picked an outcome measure (bone status) then evaluated doses vs that outcome. The Army found D levels declined after entry due to uniform wear. I feel bad for submarine crews. I’d argue that a single dose recommendation for several hundred million people with different lifestyles in different climates is puerile. Dose to a serum standard.

8 years ago i suffered from severe Depression but doctors were laughing at me when i said i want to get my vitD levels measured. My Level was at 6ng/ml ! They stopt laughing when the saw the numbers. I started taking high doses and my Depression vanished rapidly. Thank you Internet!

!! YES. I was never depressed until early adulthood... Thought it was just the added stresses in life. Went to a naturopath and she tested my vitD levels. I was also floating around 6-8ng/ml. Started supplementing and my depression poofed. Was remarkable.

I have been taking vitamin d and multi vitamin since Jan 2020 .I have not even had a cold.It was a British Doctor that discovered people in cities had low vitamin d levels.And they where getting I'll.So you need to go out in the sun.Not stay indoors watching a computer screen.Also damaging your eyes.I have noticed the number of people infected has gone up since schools and collages universities have gone back.Most the people dying have not been vaccinated.Some people don't trust Doctors.So it's going to hard to convince them to get a vaccination.Number of people dying in my area is 2 per week out of 340 000.So Covid 19 Is about as deadly as car accidents.In a lockdown people are encouraged to stay indoors.Maybe they can do some gardening.Goverment policies seem to damage the economy.We all need to work to pay are bills.At least they have got some planes in the air again.People can go on holiday and sit in the sun and relax.This country is to stressfull.Well done Dr Campbell bringing to our attention we need to take vitamin d.before we were taking vitamin c to avoid colds.Hope all the staff in the hospitals are taking vitamin d and wearing masks on the way home from work.

That is an important thing to point out. They were incentivizing people to take the jab by offering free junk food and fast food..... i mean, REALLY? They don't talk about the importance of staying healthy and diet, basically just treat your body like garbage and rely on the pharma jabs instead of taking control of your own personal health. @sleevey in in Ontario and this did not happen stop lying. I have been picking it up all the time over the last 1 1/2. Your talking online orders not in store pickup and that was to prevent people hoarding it and reselling it and it was a government ordered it was depending on who sold it some chains were doing it and some were not. It’s no different than the restrictions on the toilet paper.

@@dr.j6747 Ooops! You missed my meaning totally. I have no intention of telling you anything. Just your profusion of worshipful gushing comments kinda stood out so I wrote what I wrote for others to see, that's all. Don't worry I am sure John the ex nurse knows exactly what I think about him and I really am not the kind of person who would make complaints to KZfaq any more than I would write effusive comments like yours. The other thing that stood out out is that if this video really was 'one of the very best, most exciting, and hopeful Vit. D presentations' you 'have ever had the privilege to see', you too must have been pretty clueless about vit D3 yourself and what stands out now is that you don't understand that Calcifediol is a metabolite of D3 rather than a derivative (but I guess that is an English language error). At what point did I say there was not evidence supporting the usefulness of vit D3 when it comes to Covid-19, or any other respiratory illness? I have been taking it as a supplement for over 25 years but I'd best not explain all the other reasons I have for having done that for fear of the effect it may have on you. I take it you also read the study but unlike me thought it was perfectly sound. I have been explaining the benefits of D3 to many people for many years but I'd not use such a poor study with which to do it! I can only assume that as a Behavioural Medicine practitioner that you can see the mass psychosis that is happening but it's not apparent that you do. Call the ex nurse a doctor by all means if it makes you feel good.

I agree much of this is great info, but I do hear him stress he takes much of his supplements weekly ..not daily like so many people do! Also, how many people that add these vitamins etc know their genetic weakness toward autoimmune diseases like Sarcoidosis. Without going into the complexity of just this one disease and hyper-calcification and the "hormone D" ...please Dr. call it what it is ..a hormone not a Vitamin! I'll never forget my dear granny that lived 95 long and healthy years swearing against all supplementation and always reminding us to EAT our vitamins and not eat these strangely colored oddly sweetened so called VITAMINS. Why can't we get more supplements FDA approved and watched. Many of these multicolored sweet bits are just what they are ..sweets. Find a local farmer that grows organic veggies OR better yet dabble in your own garden like we do! How many of us out here know our genetics well enough to take such high amounts that are suggested here? A healthy diet and a nice 20 minute walk, even on a not quite super sunshiny day will keep us healthy and strong without having to "hit the bottle" unless you have been seriously tested for some of the diseases that are directly affected by too much D, calcium, K etc. Is it possible the gov't worries that you could do harm by using these high amounts of supplements ..and these vague referral's of papers being made here? Eat healthy and take lots of walks!

In April 2021, Canada's then Health Minister Patty Hajdu said it’s “fake news” that Vitamin D can be taken to help protect Canadians. Hadju was responding to MP Derek Sloan asking why the public was not being told of the health benefits available to us all from Vitamin D3. We really must ask what is going on and why our health is not being addressed by our 'leaders'.

I have started vitamin D3 4000 ie for two weeks now. My arthritis pain throughout my whole body has improved 85 percent. I'm so thrilled. Thank you! Also fatigue has improved 60 percent I'd say. I am a senior, fair complected and live in North Michigan snow belt. This has been a wonderful gift.

Somehow mid-Africa is doing better than a lot of the world. Yet black communities in North America have been disproportionately affected by covid. So I can't help but wonder if levels of Vit-D is a more major factor than scientists currently think 🤔 EDIT: Nm, he covers it at 30:34 :D

I’m a nutritionist and all I could think when they discussed those at risk for severe Covid was that they were the same populations at risk for vitamin D deficiency. I was shocked no one else seemed to pick up on it.

Same here. Before covi I had clients on 5000 IU D3/K2 daily and some sun every day if possible. When it started, I had some of them go get blood levels checked and upped if they were below 30.

I'm worried that those who knew didn't want to say anything for fear of being called racist. Its a shame that being politically correct may have gotten in the way of helping people. My husband is black, and I made sure to let him know and get him on Vitamin D. I let my in laws and some of my coworkers who are black know as well. No point in people getting worse disease or dieing because I was worried to say something. Same with people who have poor diets due to poverty and are impacted by Covid. There are those who would say we can't shame people or blame them for it. No but we could educate them to help them. We could distribute vitamins in certain communities. I struggle with obesity. I get people not wanting to fat shame. But I would have preferred to be told how much obesity impacts Covid outcomes. I like people to be sensitive and kind to others, but not to the point of concealing truth and useful information.

My mum used to make me take fish oil with vitamin D every morning when i was a teenager. Thought it was utterly pointless and it irritated me before i went to school in the morning. I eventually dawned on me that i only needed to take 1 day off sick in about 3 years and was in school every day. Started taking them daily (4 - 5000 UI) about 6 years ago and I've had a cold once in that time despite being surrounded by people with flu, colds, coughs etc... in work. Your videos are a goldmine. Well frankly, he is very late to the party on this issue. Why would I listen to “experts” who are not telling me about (or outright suppressing) the kind of information listed below? Why would I NOT listen to doctors who have treated thousands of high risk patients with almost no deaths (Zelenko, McCullough, etc.) From the NIH: “The qualitative synthesis indicated that vitamin D deficient individuals were at higher risk of COVID-19 infection as compared to vitamin D sufficient patients. I was tested about 5 years ago for low thyroid. When the bloodwork came back, my Vit D levels were very, very low. My doc put me on Vit D3 10,000 units/day. The next year I had a higher reading, but still low. 5 years later, I am finally getting close to a normal range. I take a medical grade--only have to take 1 tablet (it contains the K2 also) as well as a medical grade B complex. It has made a huge difference in my energy, clear-headedness. My thyroid function has improved as well.

You can't get to high levels unless you are metabolically healthy. Fasting 72-96h at a time will help there, and also with the thyroid. Some of the many benefits of fasting and a lower carb whole food diet on the immune system, blood pressure, blood sugar and anti-aging, all backed up by clinical data: Fribrosis/scarring is reversed. Reflexes and short term memory are increased. The hunger hormone ghrelin lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting. Make sure to include magnesium with that so that the vitamin D goes to the areas of the body it should. 'Medical grade' is not superior. In fact, it can be very much inferior as this would be manufactured by a pharmaceutical company, most likely made from petroleum byproducts. When choosing a supplement company, do a search as to who the shareholders of the supplement company are. You will find that the majority are now owned by pharmaceutical companies and / or their subsidiaries. Look for independent supplements manufacturing companies, as local to your area as possible, which use food-grade (not 'medical grade') sources of vitamins & minerals. There is no reason it should take over a year to increase your vitamin D levels if taking a quality supplement. At the moment, I take up to 40,000 IU / day, plus vitamin K2, PLUS magnesium, along with many other supplements.

I don't understand why this is being pushed, in large amounts daily it has the potential to calcify the blood and become a neurotoxin. Thanks, Dr. John for continuing talking about Vit D. I've always taken Vit d for years. But only at 5000iu per day when I remembered to even take it. When covid started I went to 10000iu per day. Got tested and was at 40m/l. Thought that wasn't good enough, so increased it to 15000iu per day. Again test at 72n/l. Since I have multiple comorbidities and wanted more for fighting covid, so I increased to 20000 per day. of Vit d. Again tested and it was 101 n/l. A short time later I caught covid, suffered from only 2 days low-grade fever, then 1.5 -2 weeks reduced ability to taste and smell. I also took Quercetin, zinc, Vit c and berberine, and also magnesium. I credit all of these to help fight off the virus. Update, had several people ask about Vit K. Yes, my Vit D has K in it, wouldn't take Vit D without it.

As an add-on: Much of the beneficial properties of the omega-3 in fish oil are now thought to be actually the additional vit. D that is also present in the fish oil. Vit D also has documented to be very helpful for a slew of cancers

@@JTSA1234 My ex-husband is in the same boat. I'm his caregiver and manage his complicated meds. When COVID hit I started giving him 100mcg of K and Omega 3 and increased his D3 to 5000 units. In spite of several comorbidities, he hasn't even had a cold. He's been vaxed and boosted. But new diagnosis of AFib requires Eliquis, and they said stop the Omega. So, Juli, keep up the K and D and a good multi. Best wishes.

I always substitute the vegetable oil in my dinner recipes with olive oil (heart healthy) instead. Or other oils, such as avocado oil or coconut oil (doesn't have a coconut taste at all. Fantastic to soften your hair too). I like to use the natural oils instead. I will use coconut oil when baking stuff. If its baking bread, then I will use the olive oil.

@@gillyorath6182 Coconut oil is high in saturated fat, so it can potentially raise LDL. However new research suggests that this isn’t a health risk for most people. So it’s controversial, but I would choose coconut oil over highly processed vegetable oil.

Yes. They are chemical factory created and processed seed oils, highly unstable and highly inflammatory. One of the chemical processes is sanitization: removing the stink - it's rancid already. Never ever consume them. New research (into the dangers of seed oils) strongly suggests that they might be the major driver of the west's cancer epidemic.

In August 2020, my PA recommended that I begin taking Vitamin D3 and Zinc in high doses. In November 2020 I contracted Covid, but even with several risk factors, I had a mild case. You have confirmed how wise she was in putting me on these supplements. I agree with you in not understanding why the government mouthpieces don't encourage the use of supplements that boost immunity. Makes me wonder how much influence the drug companies have in the halls of government.

Just to let you know,. Many of former Pzifer employees and member of the board are now in the FDA the federal agency tasked to authorize and scrutinize the safety of the medicines sold in the USA. Conversely former employees of the FDA are currently running Pzifer. Bad as this is, it get's worse: pharmaceutical companies control indirectly many media companies through their advertising (particularly Fox News which incidentally is the less evil of the lot). And big pharma also have a massive influence on the government to the point that there is no clear indication who controls who. The NHS and the FDA have been pumping wrong information (particularly regarding nutrition) and medical practices on behalf of big pharma for decades.

I'm so angry right now about our politicians in Austria who are doing nothing other than forcing vaccination to fight this pandemic. No vitamins, no ivermectin, no early treatment of corona patients etc. Politics and media make it a political thing and ridicule anyone who talks about these possibilities. Hi Dr. Campbell! It's critically important to differentiate between vitamin K2, which the paper is recommending, and vitamin K1, which is what governments and multivitamins usually refer to when they refer to "vitamin K." Vitamin K2 is not found in measurable amounts in green leafy vegetables like Vitamin K1. Vitamin K2 is found in fermented foods and some animal products - goose liver pate and Gouda cheese, for example - so it is much less easily derived from a healthy diet. What we don't want is to increase vitamin K1, because that is implicated in increased clotting of the blood, contraindications with prescription blood thinners and increased clotting risks. The dosage suggested by the paper you highlighted is for K2 specifically, not all-inclusive "Vitamin K" which usually means K1. Love you and your channel! Keep up the great work.

I have been ill the past year or so, which has not been fully diagnosed, but one of the tests highlighted a very high Vitamin D deficiency. I was advised by my doctor to take over-the-counter Vitamin D. I asked the pharmacist for the high-strength ones and sold 25ug/1,000IU. I initially felt a little better over the coming weeks but I was still feeling unwell. When having a conversation with my brother about my situation he said that I should look to take 250ug/10,000IU (he's not a doctor, just informed about current science). Since taking said daily dose, I have been feeling so much better and most of my symptoms have disappeared. So glad to have found this video to explain what the vitamin does and the significance of the dosage. I am just a little disappointed that my doctor didn't actually prescribe a certain amount to take, especially when I asked him at the time. I am glad to have found your channel.

Same here. I’ve always had back pain and shoulders pain for years and years . I have been taking Vitamin D3 5000IU for the past six months but did not get the results I wanted. I mainly did for my fatty liver. But two weeks ago when I hurt my back at the gym I went home feeling this dull pain in my back. When I upped my vitamin d3 from 5000iu to 10,000IU in two hours my sore back was gone.. I felt really good and I it’s been one month now and I will continue to take my Vitamin D3 from now on. Whenever I’m sore a bit and I just take vitamin d3 and pain goes away in 2-3 hours ..

In Louisiana, USA early in the pandemic there was a startling discovery. Everyone in that state who died of COVID was low or critically low on vitamin D. My doctor had me go from 5,000 IU to 10,000 IU when I got COVID.

@@jaybee2402 Swamp heat and humidity makes a lot of people stay inside. Also, the darker your skin is, the more difficult it is to absorb vitamin D.

I take 8k IU of vit d daily and I eat a sensible amount of eggs, offal and butter daily. It improved massively everything I do, I convinced my wife to take 4k IU and she improved her moodiness and anxiety. She is almost scared about how positive it was.

I agree, its almost scary miraculous! If I've been off it for a while (I try to get alot of sun in summer) when I start taking it again it feels almost immediately like sunshine on a cloudy day, its that dramatic! I say to people, if thats placebo effect, I don't care, ill taken it!!

I am from Kenya in East Africa and we were raised on roots and herbs, fresh fish exposed to lots of sunshine and farming activities, My grandmother used to say that our traditional diet would boost our immunity..I am 54 and never been admitted to a hospital ..am eating lots of cream cakes nowadays living in the capital city ..and less traditional foods😅Thank you Dr. Campbell, I am a professional philosopher and your videos and analysis are excellent.

So in that instance, depending on how much daylight, your skin tone etc., you can take one tablet a day (4,000 iu), or if you wanted 6,000 iu, then one a day then 2 every other day, to that you are getting 6,000 overall during the week, etc... Hope that helps! :)

A great presentation on Vit D. One comment I would like to add is that when you talk about Vit K in foods near the end, it should be emphasized that it is K2 (menaquinone) specifically that is being talked about as the study itself points out. Vitamin K1 is the most common source that is present primarily in plant foods like leafy green vegetables. Vitamin K2, on the other hand, is found in animal products and fermented foods. Foods high in this vitamin include meat, dairy and natto. It is also produced by the beneficial bacteria in your gut microbiome. Most people do not get sufficient K2 even from animal sources and if you are vegetarian or vegan you definitely will be deficient, so supplementation is the safest bet. I just discovered your site today and have watched several videos and will definitely be back for more. Thank you.

@@Fyloeu k1 comes from green leafy vegetables and you convert that into k2. Animals already done the conversion to k2. Green leafy vegetables are extremely nutrient dense and the best on the planet. I say that as someone whose studied nutrition x3 times at x3 universities and a vegan

I worked at 3 hospitals during the pandemic, two now, still haven't caught COVID (knock on wood). I took tons of Vitamin D. My dad is 87 and my mother is 81. Both healthy and no medication at all. My mom promoted vitamins throughout my childhood. Doctors never talk about supplements until you're deficient. So disturbing how they ignore the benefits.

I've been dithering over taking 1,000 iu per day (called "High Strength" on the bottle), thinking it might be too much, and I'm now hearing that we should be taking much more, ie 4,000-10,000 iu!! @Kelly Head - Oh yes I agree. information about the results of the lack of vitimin B12. would save a lot of older people from going downhill before their time. My husband who was always active and healthy began to have problems with achy legs. Eventually the feeling of numbness got so scary that I had to drive him to A&E. He was fortunate there was a young doctor on duty who had an interest in his condition and suggested he had neuropathy. A course of B12 injections has made all the difference. My father has been on, doctor supervised, B12 injections for about 30 years. He is 95, living independently, in his own home, still driving, shopping and looking after himself. At 66 I have begun taking a one a day B12 pill. Almost immediately I noticed the odd ache or pain I was getting in my aging bones began to disappear. I have no doubt that some info about the benefits of B12 from the good doc would be appreciated by all. .

Dr John, thank you for this. The FLCCC and IVM crowd has allready advise us to use vit D3. I make sure to be bare chested for at least 30min everyday. Fortunately we have LOTS of sun everyday. A point to note is that the protective nature of K2 was only confirmed by science around 2003 - so doctors have to catch up with the latest science. That's why doctors are usually over cautious on D3 - their training is out of date.

@@rlkinnard So you can confirm that the guidelines have changed little since then. K2 carboxylates osteocalcin and activates matrix GLA protein. K2 is the calcium manager - and we used to get more K2 from food than today.

@@Jay...777 People were taught about D3 and I do not think that there is much change since the 80s. I cannot remember the exact status of the guidelines, but I doubt that they have changed much. I have taken D3 supplements for decades. K2 is certainly something new and the recommendations are evolving. The Last I looked, most of the studies were done in Japan on this vitamin. I first read about K2 in the early 2000s.

Thank you so much for your thorough and balanced analysis. I love the way you qualify your statements by including full disclosure of what we don't know for sure as well as what we do know with some certainty. I am generally skeptical of all the online pundits who champion various health claims. But YOU I take seriously. You have my complete trust because you're not a zealot for any particular point of view. You just report the science and help people make informed decisions. I'm 71 years old and my wife is 74, We're triple vaccinated, but my wife is immunocompromised because of a long illness she continues to fight, so for us it's so important we do everything we can to amp up our general health and our immune systems in particular. Based on what you've laid out in this video, it's clear to me that taking B3, K2, and some other associated supplements has great potential upside and no real downside, as long as we take appropriate amounts. I've already started taking B3 and have ordered K2 along with the other supplements you mentioned. Bless you for all you do, Dr. Campbell.

This is an outstanding presentation. Thank you Dr. Campbell. While it may be purely anecdotal, I was somewhat Vitamin D deficient for a while. Additionally, I am overweight (BMI of 40) and have Type 2 and am hypertensive, all of which is managed with prescription meds. Thus far, insulin has not been necessary and my A1C has remained in the high 6 range. I'm 62 years of age and live in Boston, Massachusetts where I work a rotating shift schedule as a power plant operator. In any given month, I'll work 6 day shifts, 7 afternoon shifts and 7 overnight shifts. This, as you can perhaps imagine, plays havoc with my sleep patterns. During the winter months when I'm on my overnight tour, it is not unusual to get, at best, 2-3 hours of daylight exposure a day. About 3 years ago, I started ramping up my daily intake of D3 to the point where I currently take between 10,000 and 20,000 IU daily. I know that sounds excessive. I asked my Primary Care Physician what possible negative side effects may occur. He suggested that too much may result in gall stones. Nevertheless, I stuck with my regimen. Until just a few weeks ago, the last time I can recall having anything even approaching what I would consider a serious cold was in late November, 2018. In early December, I started developing mild cold symptoms. This manifested itself in mainly a runny nose and some light but sporadic coughing with no fever and no sore throat. Figuring that I was due for something, I stayed on the regimen. I teach a class part time for operating engineers at a local trade school. Over a period of a week or so, several of my students tested positive for Covid. After the 4th person reported this to me, I decided to get tested and showed positive (on Dec. 9th). The guidance I received from the company doctor said that I needed to isolate for a period of 10 days from the time the symptoms first appeared, which I did. The loss of smell was the most profound part of the experience, but it has returned completely. My wife at first tested negative, but then began developing similar symptoms. A second test indicated positive for Covid but negative for influenza. She followed the same protocol. We both received mono-clonal antibody treatments, I on Monday Dec, 13th and she on Thursday December 16th. I returned to work on the 16th and she is returning to work tomorrow. Each if us received the Moderna vaccine in February and March of this year. You do not have to convince me of the efficacy of Vitamin D3. Your presentation and explanation of it was excellent and filled in a number of the gaps I had in understanding the dynamics behind it. It is inexpensive, convenient, available and as far as I'm concerned completely trouble-free.

Hello Dr. Campbell! This is my first time to be watching your videos. I am viewing from Papua New Guinea. I just want to thank you for your excellent presentation on Vit.D. I want to share my testimony on the topic of Vitamin D and Covid-19; As a matter of my fact, my mother fell ill of Covid-19 in November this year, and she was treated symptomatically in which she recovered in two weeks. However, she still complains of weakness and and tiredness after she recovered from covid-19. I advised her of getting morning doses of sunshine (vit.D)in the morning between 6-7am in the mornings. Amazingly, she felt different in just two days! Her energy level is back up and she doesn't complain of feeling fatigue anymore. Also, thank you for the PDF books, I have just downloaded mine. Vitamin D is really cool because it helps other vitamins be absorbed in the small intestine, too! You've gotta get a little fat with your Vitamins (A, D, E, & K) for them to be properly absorbed. If you pop a krill or flaxseed oil capsule with your D3/K2, you may get even more health benefits from it. :)

@@princesskileyrae You are on a very healthy track!!! Remember K2 (from MK7) is considered the better choice to take with Vit D3 and proper level of Magnesium (Mg) will assist with better absorption of the D. If Mg is too low, you can lose up to 50% absorption of your D.

My husband got the flu 3 flu seasons in a row. He just thought it was because of his age. The last time he got the flu it developed into pneumonia. Finally, they checked his Vitamin D levels and they were low. He started supplementing with 5000 IU a day and he hasn't had the flu (or anything else) since.

I have had MS for 40 odd years and have been convinced about Vit D for almost that long but now realise the need for Vitamin K2. However, not being chemically-minded, I am seriously struggling to understand the numerous ways of describing amounts. They are here suggested quickly and often in several different formats, so my notes result in confused messes. It doesn't help when the advertised supplements are described in what seem like even more different ways. Help needed!

I was recovering from cancer so my immune system has been compromised. I had a blood test to see what level my Vitamin D was , it was not too low however I was recommended to take 1000 iu’s a day for 9 months to stop in the 3 summer months due to the natural sunshine. In the U.K. we do not have enough sunshine some summers due to our inclement weather. I am very pale skinned so I don’t go out in the bright sunlight without protection. In the past two years I have not been in holiday to boost my Vitamin D naturally. More people need to be aware of Vitamin D due to its protection of these known diseases. Thank you for this confirmation I will be sharing this with all my family and friends.

What a great presentation! I'm caregiver for my 68-yr-old ex and manage his complicated meds. When COVID hit I started giving him 3mg of boron, 100mcg of K2 and increased his D3 to 5000 units; also had been giving him Omega 3. In spite of several comorbidities, he hasn't even had a cold. He's been vaxed and boosted. But new diagnosis of AFib requires Eliquis, and they said stop the Omega b/c of bleeding risk. I'm going to send link to this video to people I love. Usually their doctors aren't up to date because, as you point out, the govt folks who should be looking out for us have dropped the ball. I got the great reckoning in April 2020 and came across one of your vids on vitamin D and started taking it immediatly, you can't argue with logic. I had long covid and because of a bad concussion when I forgot to take the D, my lungs builtup fluid. The long haul has finally passed but I keep taking the D and will now watch your vid on K2. I listened to you, Dr. John, at the beginning of COVID in Jan/Feb 2020 about the importance of vitamin D, and I then increased my D3 intake to 4,000 units per day. When I got COVID in April 2020, my symptoms were fairly light. I had a dry cough, I had one night of having to prop myself up to be able breathe and sleep at night, prickling sensation in my lungs at the back, and was uncomfortable up to three days and then I was okay again. And I attribute my not being heavily affected by COVID to the vitamin D levels I had increased, so I want to 💚 THANK YOU 💚 for the heads up you gave us right from the beginning. I am still taking 4,000 units of D3 per day but I will probably increase that to 6,000 units since it's now winter and gets darker early (Canada). And I already had some K2 in my cabinet prescribed to me over a year ago, which I had stopped taking b/c I didn't really understand their purpose, but I think I will resume 200 mcg of those each day. I have ulcerative colitis, so that's my additional motivation to be ready for any more COVID. And I'm 60 years old now, so it makes sense to be properly prepared. I take the information you give to heart b/c it seems wise to. God bless.

And if significance of it is not promoted already during the education, they remain unaware of those effects. And if medical professionals are not promoting it, how could politicians see it as a part of the solution?

Not just vitamin D but also Zinc. Specially you older lads tend to have lower levels of it. Garlic and Blueberries (not together lol) really help the immune system as well.

I remember watching a video from a Dr. Ryan Cole in the US late last year who was advocating the widespread use of Vitamin D as a means of improving immunity in the population, especially in northern latitudes. He was roundly dismissed. I have watched many of your videos and if I'm honest you don't get angry enough over issues such as this! You mentioned "negligence" in your presentation and I whole heartedly agree. This is a scandal of epic proportions. I wonder how many care home residents would still be here had they been given high doses of D3 as soon as the pandemic started? This should be a major public health initiative and PHE should be recommending high dose D3 and K2 for all care home / nursing home residents. The powers that be seem to be aware of this but are doing nothing about it!

@free2think Unfortunately it's a general lack of anger in the medical community and the population as a whole that results in us sleepwalking into a potential disaster. I agree that Dr. Campbell is ethical and gentle in his approach and perhaps he is wise in not becoming demonstrably angry but that does nothing to change the policies coming from our public health officials who are also supposed to have our best interests at heart. A simple directive back in early 2020 recommending that people take Vitamin D3 supplements and prescribing the same to care home residents could potentially have saved many lives, but this advice was never given. Fauci admitted on national tv that he takes 8-9,000IU of D3 every day. He knows that's what people should do to boost their immune system but fails to make it policy. I am sure Chris Whitty in the UK knows this too and he also fails to tell the population to supplement. As Dr. Campbell said, this smacks of "negligence". So I guess I'll get angry on Dr. Campbell's behalf, whilst knowing that my anger will make no difference whatsoever!!

I have a colostomy bag that has a clear side and I can see how digested and undigested food and other things that I’ve consumed appear as waste. I’ve noticed that many pills and vitamins in tablet form go through my system and out into my colostomy bag whole, without any digestion. I mentioned this to a friend who works in a clinic where they examine corpses to determine how the person died. (Autopsy). My friend was NOT SURPRISED by what I had noticed in my stool regarding tablets. She told me that very often when they open up the digestive tract of a corps, they will find many undigested tablets! So I will not take pills or vitamins in tablet form unless it’s a prescription that’s only available as tablets. Capsules, soft gels, powders and liquids are formats that are more expensive than tablets but they are worth a little more because they do digest and absorb. The drug manufacturers try to fake it by coating tablets with colored gel and calling them something like gel caps or gel tabs. They also make “gummies” which are loaded with sugar and I don’t need sugar with my vitamins or otc meds.

But you also don’t know why these corpses did not have digested pills and tablets. Don’t compare yourself to them. They could’ve had their own issues that caused that. If our bodies did not digest and break down tablets, we wouldn’t live long at all as our stomachs would be full of undigested pills and we’d likely throw them up a lot. So this doesn’t make sense at all

60 yo with 3 auto immunes. Vit.D was at 4. Thought I was dying. 6 months later at 50,000 per week I felt so much better. No more fatigue or being sweaty and hot all the time. Anyone with health issues is probably low on d which eventually makes your bones hurt even. Please take it.

Same. I have previously been diagnosed with depression and general anxiety disorder. About a month after afterting vit D (it was low so doc gave 50k a week + 3k daily) I started to feel better mentally. It got up to 30 after 12 weeks. Now I just take 4k a day to maintain and increase

@@kristymarie6065 Sorry if I replied late but didn't see your comment. Any vitamin D3 supplement will be ok if it's made in the correct way. Every supplement manufacturer gets the D3 in pure form ( liquid or powder ) and then dilutes it for the final user to consume. I take 4000iu daily but will probably go to 2000iu as I used to do in 2019.

I'm in western australia. after watching these video's I went to all of my local pharmacies/supermarkets and could only find maximum1000 Vit D bottles on the shelf everywhere. So I purchased a brand online: Vit D 4000 + K2 100. Started taking one a day plus another zinc supplement. Then I got a blood test from my gp to check my vit d number. The Gp office called me and said 'Your Vit D level is too low (@56) and the doc recommended me a Brand tablet twice a day for a month then once daily therafter. I googled the brand...and it's only 1000. No mention of Vit K from the doc surgery. I have decided to double my dosage to 8000 Vit D/200K2 daily for a month in preparation for our border opening. This makes complete sense to me.

I upped my D3 from 2000iu to 5000iu a day after seeing this in Nov. Added K2. Already taking Z since early 2021. When Omicron came along, I got it around Christmas. My symptoms were so mild. Slightly irritated throat and a light cough. Took Tussin DM as directed on the label and cough was never a problem. Had an all-day headache the first day, but after that, no reoccurrence. Lost appetite and was tired. Slept great. About the 7th day was about back to normal. No more need for cough medicine after the 7th day. Recently had a blood panel and added D3 test and the result was 62ng/ml - right in the middle of the scale on the report. Thanks to Dr. Campbell and his great videos. Phil. PA. USA

A simple change in diet is all we needed to get rid of Covid-19. Elderly people eat healthy, they don't get covid, it's only the young generation with processed foods and big pharma reliance that get sick, older generation is fine! What they are telling you is a lie!!! Changing back to traditional foods will fix it, move in with gramma, eat what gramma eats, she's basically immune by her diet!!!!!!! Most important fuel for the body is nutritious real food full of all the vitamins & minerals it needs to stay as healthy & virus free as possible. I would go for organic wherever possible and best still, out of our own back garden or plant pots! Soil has been depleted of many vital minerals (selenium for instance, which is vital for a healthy immune system) over the past 50 years and with the advent of GMO crops and chemically laden pesticides it makes sense to grow your own or go organic on some of the most pesticide laden veggies.

An NHS pamphlet on Winter Health & Wellbeing that came through my door has this: 'Boost your vitamin levels. Get outside in the sunshine for 15-20 minutes a day and take a vitamin D supplement to avoid vitamin D deficiency.' This is the level of government awareness, advising sunbathing in winter and a non specific suggestion to take D supplement. The Irish government are prescribing D3 supplement for all citizens, so clearly they listened and learned. UK Gov. has now accepted D3 and is recommending 4,000 IUs D3.

Hello. I have been at less than 50 nmol for 3 years. is 41 years old and weighs 100 kg. Has used supplements with about 40 micrograms of vitamin D. but last year I have gone up to 200 micrograms. but Now I'm finally up to 119 nmol. Thanks to your videos

This is excellent information, I am so grateful to have discovered this channel! I have been taking 160 ug vitamin D3 for almost 3 years, combined with 150 ug vitamin K2. I love to see that the science backs this up now. In my country the recommended dose of D3 is 10 ug daily… You barely survive on that! Keep on telling the truth 👍 I love listening to Dr Campbell 😀

Why aren’t governments doing studies to show the benefits of Vitamin D? Because there’s more incentive to keep people sick and dependent on big pharma drugs. It’s about power, and remaining in power. And to do so they need the best way to control the population, which is through dependency and total submission. And an ignorant/uninformed population is the path to this continued “success”. Thank you for keeping up with your great content, doctor. We need it 👊🏻

@@alan4sure you’re not responding to anything I wrote. I specifically responded to the doctor as to why government isn’t putting emphasis on the benefits of Vitamin D to combat illness. And the answer is that there’s no incentive, there’s no money in it.

I was having pain in my largest muscles (thighs, butt). Dr tested my Vit D levels. It was low Vitamin D,

My D level is 318 nmol/L (127 ng/ml) and I haven't been sick or had the flu or fever in over 30-40 years. I'm now a very healthy 74years. Have my full blood work done every few year and it's excellent in all area's. Never been on any kind of medication. I do take other supplements and Vitamins and I believe that D is the most important.

I've been taking 50,000 IU's of D twice a week for a few years. My wife's D level was 487 nmol/L about 8 months ago. We're both very healthy. Also take good supplements, plus goos diet, rest and exercise. @@GM-jy6gd

25:33 - Sadly, I think we all know the answer. I took Dr. Campbell's advice a year ago, and began a Vitamin D regimen of 5,000 IU in the summer and 10,000 IU in the winter. I went from being deficient to 51 ng/mL at a recent check. I will now add the Vitamin K2. Thank you Dr. Campbell! BTW - My Doctor told me that insurance may not cover the Vitamin D blood test. I told him that I didn't care - I'll pay for it.

My friend and I just ordered home test kits for Vitamin D, which are available in the US for under $50 a pop. We're a little nervous about squeezing blood droplets out of our fingers, but reviews indicate that if we can get past that hurdle, the test results should be accurate.

I've been taking 5000 units of vitamin D in the summer and 10000 units in the cold/dark months for about the past year. I've been taking a trace mineral with zink in it too. I'm gonna make sure it has some K2 in there as well. Thanks for all the empowering information John!

Thank you got presenting actual science from the same perspective and not calling yourself "The Science" as some do. It's balanced Drs like you that are keeping people level headed and we need more. Just because Drs follow what the government guidelines say doesn't mean their not being negligent if they know better or don't verify the info themselves. I have been so frustrated as a lay person because a lot of this seems so obvious to me. I have delt with medical issues in my family for years and so many we have more information than is used to treat those situations. The fall back is often on the newest pill. I have been fortunate for the few great Drs I have worked with. They are always willing to explain their perspective but with the amount of work they have they don't even remember everything. We could have protected so many more from severe illness and vaccine side affects if we were just honest and not trying to push a myopic, one size approach. It really is shameful.
