Very cool "Adventure Trailer". My favorite feature is that the tent extension/changing room, is on an aluminum frame so the tent floor and you aren't on the ground. That's great and definitely my kind of feature. I mean, that about as much tech as you can throw on an overlander... I like the dude also haha. He's one of the high intensity, not screwing around people of the world. He was exceptional at his job before he retired for sure. Love it. But dude....Sunray 109e...are you kidding me? I think I'm starting to the line more clearly for what kind of features are necessary on the overlanding setups for my personal style.

That's the best outdoor kitchen I've ever seen. I love it.

One thing I've learned while traveling and camping with my wife and daughter this summer using our Runaway RangeRunner towed by an F150 is that having quick access to sleeping quarters, your kitchen/food and your gear is important to keep everyong comfortable and happy; especially when you are tired and pull into a site late and just want to crawl into bed, or when you're between locations during the day to pull over and make a quick lunch. The trailer in this video is probably easily pulled into the backcountry and appears to provide many comforts of a full size RV once set up. Everyone has their own idea of adventure and what they want when they are "overlanding". For me this one doesn't make sense.

Interesting setup. I like that the bed is elevated off the ground. That kitchen is pretty nice though it is way more than I have need for. This seems like the go to a spot and stay a few days kind of set up and would be nice for hunters and fishers. The large counter space would make cleaning and field dressing pretty easy. It is an expensive and heavy tent.

Hey drew. This is the kind of "set up" I like... BUT... You can pretty much do it all just with tents. Yes it might take a bit longer to set up... but you can haul it in on a normal trailer, or pull it in on a sleigh. or store it inside the tear drop and set up for a long basecamp at a location... that being said, for someone who wants an all in 1 with a pickup tow vehicle, this is a good option if they don't mind not having AC.

Love the diesel fuel source. SO much energy with so little storage tank. Safari roof is a great idea for the tent. My rooftop tent can get pretty warm. The aussies know what they're doing with these adventure trailers.

Loved the kitchen, hated everything else. I have to agree with Casey LaDelle, the overland market has gotten way to out of control and seems to target people with more money than sense.

I keep waiting for an update on your camper, which I'm guessing was the comment at the end about interior access lol. This is still too heavy for my little Wrangler, though I always love watching your vids and looking at options within my weight range.

Another awesome production Drew. I really enjoy looking at other off-road capable trailer setups. I always hope to see some good ideas that we can use. There is a lot to like about this trailer. It certainly is well suited for larger groups in a compact package and I like several of the innovative features. The cooking features are outstanding but we like to keep things simple when camping; including pulling over just to make sandwiches. Bigger and more complex does not qualify as "the best" in my opinion. I noticed a few more outstanding cons. This thing is going to require a lot of level and even ground to set up on. You can level the trailer but how does that help the tent(s) and kitchen... The dry weight is not bad but when would you add the 50 gals of water weighing over 400 Lbs! There was no mention of repair and replacement to the numerous mechanical parts, hinges, fabric, zippers... Last but not least is dealing with all that fabric under real world conditions. It's challenging enough to manage a simple 180 awning. Deploying all that fabric in the wind or rain or in the dark... listening to it flap all night, stowing it wet for travel and moving from place to place. Getting home and having to dry everything out. I'd call it a 1 season setup, best suited for destination camping. It's pretty cool, and I liked the tour, but I wouldn't want to own it.

considering the STARTING price on the website is $57,437, it's no surprise it is so feature packed. I'd be hard pressed to buy this if my budget was $60k though.

Aussies arriving! Nice trailer, although looks nice and capable and those features are a great complement - I don’t find it outstanding, again excepting some nice features like the kitchen, suspension and be over the ground. But it’s not attractive to me with too many canvas, it seems like it’ll be easy to get lost keeping the area clean and organized. But, this is just my thoughts on a very non existence experience. And the price… It is a great trailer, though. The Sniper X you added… man that’s a interesting one, fast and ready to go. Loved it. Saludos compita!

Seems to me that a soft sided camper with an outside kitchen only makes sense if you’re camping by a lake in some state park in Iowa. If I’m in a place where the weather can really get nasty, or I’m in bear country, or a place where the bugs are really bad, I would want a hard shell camper with an inside cooking and food storage space.

That price is actually insane, 60k for a tent! There are many better options with more amenities for much cheaper.

Pretty neat. It is a pop-up. I think the solar panels on the camper are pretty useless just like the guy showing it said. The folded out size is pretty big. You can definitely get a tear/square drop in a smaller area/site. Yes, the kitchen was big. Probably too big for us. We would prefer something different. How much does this run? We have looked at the Opus OP2; however, never did “pull the trigger”.

I was all excited until I saw the MSRP. There's no way I could afford this even if the dealer offered a steep discount. Unfortunate! I am surprised that the extremely high price didn't make the list of "Don't Likes." Because that's a deal killer right there.

Great video Drew. Interesting trailer. The kitchen IS awesome. As I'm watching I am wondering about the complexity of the build process. And along with that is the complexity of maintenance. But I see how this would be a fun trailer to camp in a few times. Thanks!

$60k 🙄 Neat bit of kit, but the value just isn't there IMHO

I'm a huge fan of Kimberley, the ideal would be the Karavan been hoping to be able to do it next year or two. But kids are expensive and keep taking my money instead. They're a huge investment though, not inexpenive for all those cool features.

If you get a chance, maybe do a review on a Kamparoo trailer. Very similar to the Kimberley but much better price point and much less weight. We had one that was originally built in Australia and imported to Canada but there is a Canadian source that is making them there now.

Looks to be built from the same frame/starting point as the MDC, Opus, etc trailers which all start in china (Not a negative, I've used these and they're great). I'm happy to see more innovative setups on these and this one looks particularly interesting. The price absolutely ruins it though, you get a lot more for less than half that from the others I mentioned.

Cool concept, but that tongue box is a massive waste of space. If they got rid of that triangular design and just made it an arched top, that would give so much more storage space

This was a great video. I was already aware of KK and knew this would come in at a high price. I just dont understand what demograph is buying this trailer. This thing is pricey. I just can't with these prices. This is why Hiker is dominating the demo that I'm in. Its no doubt a rock solid trailer. We need an american manufacture to pick up this type of camper using Gordigear tents or the like and market them. They could easily compete with Hiker at a lower price point and it would be a much smaller foot print of a trailer.

I would love to get a trailer for my wife and I, but really would like to stick with a tear drop as they feel like less maintenance for the long haul, but I'd like my first to be a used one and they just don't seem to be popular in New England. Also living in an apartment I'd need to find a place to store it.

Very nice, but I don't do crowds and try to be a minimalist compared to most. I like seeing what's out there, however.

One of these days someone will demonstrate a trailer the right way and show the living space and living features before wasting time on the hitch and tires and other junk. If the trailer isn't one you want to live in none of the other stuff matters, if it is then you want to know.

That tent on a hinge is pretty sweet. But I like my basic Runaway mini-camper on a good chassis and off-road suspension (Timbrens), like the $60,000 trailer in the video, but mine came in at around $12,000. Lug pattern fits what's on my pickup, so I don't need an extra spare. I have a spare for the truck, already, and it'll work for the trailer long enough to get to civilization, and I can scavenge from the camper if I get more than one but no more than 3 flatThat tent on a hinge is pretty sweet. Anyway, as a lifelong pickup-truck camper, I've camped all over the west and northwest of the UsA, so I already know how to camp in all weathers and I have all the kitchen and other stuff I need. Camping just got a whole lot better, is all. It starts with being able to bed down without any work, plus you have extra cargo room for more tools and gear. I can set up a cushier camp, and I already had a pretty nice setup. Nothing fancy, but dry and warm. The fun/tricky part for me will be making that Florida-centric mini-camper into a 4-season beast! It's basically made for Floridians. Air conditioner came with it, stock. I think their clientele mostly camp at organized camp grounds with RV hookups, i.e., electricity. Air conditioning is a must for that clientele. They've been camping all their lives, but never could escape the heat, and that little sleeper with the AC is like heaven to them! I'm more of an off-grid type camper, though, and I camp North and I camp high, so i won't be running the AC much, but it'll be nice if I travel south in summer. I think it'll be more fun modifying a basic camper than buying one with expensive bells and whistles. When I look at this camper, I like the idea, but I'd rather they maximize the cargo room along with that tent idea, and left everything else about camping up to the campers.

This type is very popular here in Australia. They are a pain to set up when moving daily and you still have the canvas to deal with. Definitely too painful and waaaay to expensive.

I have questions. I camp in bear country. There are none stop reminders about not cooking, eating or keeping personal items in your tent ( all attract wildlife and a bear did check out someone's tent at a location I love) You are almost cooking in your tent and you are washing in you tent. Am I missing something for bear Country? Then the heating thing, it is fabric, heating it is like heating my home with the windows open. Proper sleeping bags might be a better choice. I like the basic idea and I have seen something less extreme on my travels but couldn't see a brand name that I thought was a great little ( note it was little and simple a car was towing it ). I hope you find one of those and give us a tour

Tongue weight is a big problem . Plus $$$. Also at. Campground the kitchen would be in my neighbors patio ? Power post and sewer drain in the way. Shower ext would be in patio of site. I know there designed for overland/boondock/Driving on left of road, wish they would flip the design for US market .

Lotsa good qualities, not sure if I like the need to setup everything before I cook if I want shade or out of the rain. Price is up there with the bean, since I don’t have a need for more than two of us to sleep I’d go bean if I was spending that much.

An interesting tent, with a lot of features. The tons of elbow room is nice. That huge kitchen would be nice for entertaining, but is pretty unnecessary for every day use by a couple.

Seen a few videos of these slide out kitchens and never hear them mention a gray tank. Curious if someone can tell where the water from the sink goes. Dump it on the ground? In a bucket and haul it away?

Not to be negative but they can keep these in Australia I prefer a lighter and basic needs trailer like the teardrop easy on gasoline and when you go off road you probably Spend more time outdoors than in a trailer. Its nice to see ideas and thanks for posting. 73

Very nice trailer. Price and tongue weight are a big negative for me. Needs a 1/2 ton truck due to tongue weight. My Intech Flyer Pursue weighs 340 pounds tongue weight, fine for my Tacoma. Joolca deluxe (two room) for shower/getting dressed. For the price, I'd go with the Intech Sol Horizon (sleeps 4) for $42.5K

This type of fold over is super popular in Australia, I always thought it was a great design. Not sure why companies don't think Americans want fold overs.

The exterior storage boxes look impressive but are actually worthless. That bonnet style lid means that half the volume (storage space) is really unusable. Should've just put door on front of box, hinge on left to serve wind break for hob.

Folded up it looks like the Marinedust off shuttle from Aliens. For cooking I have kettle for hot water/coffee and a small Dutch oven.

For that price, for an albeit nice pop-up camper, they better give you free unlimited canvas replacements for life or something equivalent.

Kimberley Kampers probably built an excellent quality camper but I reckon it's all a bit too much - too heavy, too complicated, too time-consuming to setup and too expensive. The well-regarded Cub Campers Brumby is almost half the price here in Australia and it has everything and enough of everything considering how most people use that style of camper over here. I'm guessing that rear-fold/hard floor campers are still bit of a novelty in North America though, so there isn't much competition?

The complexity of setup/breakdown, canvas woes, tongue weight, and price tag make this trailer too impractical. Can you imagine needing to stow it away quickly if a wind storm picked up?! That kitchen is the only thing I like about it. Hopefully some of the tech from this trailer bleeds over into the rest of the market, though.

First thing this is a tent and not an RV. I went to one RV campground and they did not allow tents the owner was nice enough to tell me a park that allowed tents. I wouldn't want to go through that again. As for the price it's easy to spend all that money when adding stoves and refrigerators and all the kitchen apparatus. Then comes the bath which if using a camp ground is not needed, but some people think they need. If you add solar and batteries you can easy go over budget. Adding Internet can run your bill up and extra services for all three carriers. This is cool though. 73

It's just a little too much for me. Nice trailer and everything, and if you were to put up a base camp that might be something. But a little tooth much fabric, little too much tongue. The kitchen is still on the side with the road grime, dust , dirt Etc. Which isn't conducive to my style of camping. I have seen the manufacturer's video of setup and stuff. It really is a well-built trailer. And the kitchen does have everything you could possibly think of.

Springbar is American made, could use that instead.

Incorrect about drum brakes. Some new vehicles, especially semi trucks, still have drum brakes. Discs can be better for certain but not all applications.

Disc are cheaper and easier to work on. If sized to the load theres very little difference in performance.

A bear would have a fun time with that. That's my biggest negative. We have an increasing bear problem in N America. That would be fine for a gated camp ground, but not fun camping. Techno play box, I'd be embarrassed to be seen towing the lumpy thing. But i love the built on solar panel idea. Charging on the road is a real plus. Husband says it looks like a homeless camp, but he's an old grump.

Yeah...this trailer starts at $57k. That's completely absurd! I can buy a full size RV for less than that!

500lbs tongue weight on a 2500lb trailer... That's insane, right? That would max out my Xterra on tongue weight, even though I could tow literally twice as much total weight. Unless you really needed the off-road features, why not go with a stick and tin, since you're going to need basically a 1/4 ton truck anyways? Neat concept though, just needs to weight half as much on the front lol.

Another tent trailer that is big enough for a family and is much lighter is Camp-Let.

Yes for $25k, definitely a no for me at their price.

$57k? Are you out of your godforsaken? Who would spend that on a tent with a kitchen?

Sheesh..........a compressor-driven suspension-levelling system rather than manual leveling jacks? Here's someone who hasn't camped much thinking that complex, heavy and expensive kit is better than light, simple, robust. And if you've slept on anything with suspension, you'll know that turning over at night rocks the vehicle/ trailer, and everyone else sleeping feels it......whereas a pair of corner jacks takes the suspension out of the equation, gets everything level, and ensures stability when fellow campers roll over, or climb out to go for a pee. The storage boxes are incredibly poorly designed, wasting most of the volume with the silly lid design. The whole thing is huge, heavy, overly complex, and frivolous. The worst thing of all? That price is ridiculous. It's obviously aimed at rich caravanners who like to pretend they are caravanning.

For that money, I’m getting a Patriot Camper X3 instead.

Big NOPE. The tongue weight on a camper that weight should only be around 325 lbs +/- The wheels need to be moved. And at $60K there are a about a dozen other campers I would rather have in this weight range (Most cost less) I would challenge the idea this is the "best available kitchen" While it does have a lot of features and counter space it doesn't look the most ergonomic I have seen. Just my 2 cents.

You ding other trailers for have much less canvas than this one. It's a tent.
