I’m Nic, I roam the world in my campervan! I self-converted my Vauxhall Vivaro aka LL Cool Van into a mini off grid beast so I can run away into the wilderness. Hi Nic. Thank you for another amazing vlog. I'm currently building out a jumbo transit to live in full time come February. I decided at the ripe old age of 52 to go live my dream of blogging and travelling and solo female vanlifers such as your good self have been an inspiration! I'm heading up to the Highlands when Vera is ready and will most definitely be stopping off in Shropshire to visit ALL the places in this video as they're utterly stunning! Great vlog I have lived in Shropshire (telford) all my life and love it spent loads of time up the Ercall and the wrekin mountain biking and walking we are so lucky to live here 😍

Hey nic, great video, I've been watching your videos of the camper build and just watched this one. It's very strange really as I was camping up the longmynd in my tent that same night and I'm sure I walked passed your van the following morning, on my way back to plush Hill. I'm from Shrewsbury myself, so was Suprised to see this, but great work. I love the longmynd and caradoc, very stunning and scenic. Just purchased a vivaro myself and in the process of the build. I love Shropshire, beautiful place.. 😍 We go every year and stay in Clun.. I also love Ludlow, very pretty town. Awww your little pooch is so cute! 🤗 I had two Westies, Molly&Jessie for 13 years and Molly wouldn't walk far due to ill health but my god she loved it when we put her in our rucksack. So cute with her paws over the top and her pretty little face as happy as anything.. 🐾❤️❤️ I will have to do some walks that you have recommend.. Thanks for sharing.. 😀

Aww nice, I don't make it down to South Shropshire as much as I'd like. I am mainly based in Shrewsbury so still quite a drive. But lovely to hear you visit once a year and such a cute story about your pup. Brought a tear to my eye, dogs are just wonderful creatures 🥰

I love Onyx he is adorable. Thank you for reminding me how lovely Shropshire is, I have visited all those locations albeit 20 years ago. You have inspired me to put it on my list of camping trips this year Covid permitting. I am not living in my van but I manage to get away every fortnight mostly Derbyshire and Yorkshire which are close to where I live in Lincolnshire.

You have great screen presence and your videography is really nice. A great combination of scenery, music and local information with your green message being there but not too pushy. I think that last point is important because I get a strong sense that there is part of the population that gets tired of in your face messaging... not least because of the pandemic. Really loving your videos though... you are an impressive and inspiring character. All strength to you.

Aww lovely to see a local on here! Absolutely, I don't document every day on here so for full updates you can find me on Instagram @nicroams where I do show this stuff a little bit more. I litter pick where possible, as I live in my van full time and don't always have access to bins for a few days when I'm completely offgrid thus can't accomodate wet bags of rubbish this time of year. I will try to show this side of things on here too 😌

Nic, Great Haywood, Shugborough and Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, are the inspiration for JRR’s fantasy land - he lived there 1916/17. His eldest son, John, became a parish priest for over 30 years in that county. The cliffs at Great Haywood are riddled with caves.

Very true. Tolkien was inspired by a number of places in the west midlands and western marches. Its a shame that so many people now think of New Zealand as the definitive location.

Great vlog. Shropshire is a cool county and I say that even coming from next door in Herefordshire. Wikipedia? Just because it says so doesn't mean to say it's accurate. Hi Nic another great informal video. I was in Shropshire a couple of years ago visiting friends in Church Stretton and we did both walks to the water fall and the resovoir amazing walks and scenery. We live In Hampshire on the edge of the new forest very pretty but Shropshire is without doubt the most beautiful county in England. Love Onyx by the way stay safe and keep on blogging

Glad you like the Shropshire hills, Cardingmill is beautiful but can be very busy at times. Have you explored Ashes Hollow? It goes up the Long Mynd from Little Stretton which is a couple of miles past Church Stretton. :-)

@@nicroams hi there, it was nice of you to reply, you really must visit Ashes Hollow the next time you are in Shropshire, just go past Church Stretton on the A49 out of Shrewsbury and take the in next right turn which is in about a mile or so. Go past the by houses and straight on when you come to the cross road with a pub on the corner. The road will curves to the right where you can park, or go on about 100m to the campsite. The campsite itself is really nice and is in the "coolest campsites in England" book. From there you can just follow your nose up the valley (Ashes Hollow) I walk it with my daughter every now and then and have even camped up there too :-)

Had to Google Wiltshire 😅 clearly another place i need to explore. I went to Salisbury many years ago but didn't realise it was there. But yes! Shropshire is really beautiful 😍 but I'm sure I told you that 20 times in the vlog 🤣

There’s Stonehenge and the Avebury stone circle, the cotswolds in Gloucestershire etc. I’m not surprised you said Shropshire is beautiful so many times. It looks stunning. I think I may have driven through a bit of it but not stopped to sight see. It’s funny how we don’t know of the stunning places in our own country 🤔 x

oooh i love it when i can see you walk where ive walked...love this area, you covered....not been to telfords 'the wrekin'....the folklore about that is ...a giant who had a grudge towards shrewsbury ..and another is something about 2 giants having a ding dong...as theres another smaller hill close by....im from blackcountry and we have a saying 'yow gooin round tha reekin'....meaning taking the long way around !! AH my s.mom lived right on top of Clee hill.....we always go mushy pickin on cleehills !!awesome place !!thanks for awesome video Nic and Onyx big love *X*

I forget just how lovely Shropshire is even though living here, you sort of take it for granted don't you? When I'm away I miss it so much though and even moved to Birmingham the once ( to which I regretted). Nice to see Onyx and I never knew till now about the shopping centre being dog friendly. Tuned in originally a while back as you'd managed to get to my neck of the woods,,Dartmoor,,,I'm south Dartmoor....my goodness Shropshire's beautiful,even in the recent weather!!,,,can only imagine spring/summer....and finally got to see onyx,,,very nice indeed and a good listener :)...Tigger (my dog listens very hard too).....really professionally done sweetheart these utube clips,,,will have to visit sometime,just a gorgeous area....might have experienced reckin or smelt it,,,,tiggs just rolled....x

I live in the Shropshire hills and you will be please to know that I dry my washing with only wind and solar power. If you pass you will see it out on the cloths line.

If you walk around the side and hop the gate you can jump off that water tower went with some mates in the summer.... obviously shouldn't do it In the winter though 😂
