Vacuum sealing your food is one of those things. Once you start, you’ll want to try it on everything and the Campfire 12V/240V Vacuum Sealer is a great place to start your food storage and preservation journey. Vacuum sealing is a great way to package your food to take camping - it keeps food fresher for longer, reduces storage space and freezer burn, stops leaking, and avoids things getting soggy in the bottom of your esky.
You’ll also soon learn of the benefits that vacuum sealing your food can have at home or in the caravan. Vacuum sealed food keeps up to 5 times longer in the fridge, it preserves more nutrients, reduces freezer burn, and reduces food waste when you seal your leftovers and reseal plastic packets. You can also seal when you're out in the field - just plug it into a 12V power source and seal whatever you’ve fished or foraged to take home or save for another day. An easy-to-use multifunction panel gives you the ability to select the right settings for anything.
The 30cm bag capacity gives you plenty of space and the 3cm thick vacuum seal locks in freshness and eliminates any smells. 5 large and 5 small bags are included but be warned, you won’t stop there. Vacuum sealing bags and rolls are sold separately so you can keep on sealing to your heart's content.

Have one of these for the house, but a camping version would be great!

Most people use them prior to their trip, but the 12V option certainly makes for a handy addition to a camp setup. ~ Ben

would be good to see how it performed on 12volts for those campers who go on longer trips.

@@wj2827 this is mentioned in the video, wj, the vacuum speed drops from 12-14 litres to minute on 240 V down to 7-8 litres per minute on 12V. It otherwise operates the same. ~ Ben

Can it also vacuum seal smooth bags? Or does it only work with the textured bags?

Smooth bags should be fine, I've sealed a chip packet in a vacuum sealer before. ~ Ben

@@SnowysOutdoors did you just seal the chip packet? Or did you vacuum seal it? I've found smooth bags round the house that I can heat seal with the campfire vacuum sealer. But the same smooth bag won't suck in when trying to vacuum seal

These sealers can only seal micro channel bags, maybe the chip bag was a micro channel bag, but most of the smooth bag would be plastic which only works with a chamber vacuum sealer.
