Great review. I'm new to IEM's and am interested only in the subjective experience of reviewers. Based on your review, going with the Emerald as my gateway.

Glad you enjoyed it! If you can, I would advise you to try a couple IEMs before you make your decision. It's always best to try things yourself, as it's all subjective! But yes, Emerald Sea is one of the IEMs at this price range :D - Michał

Great review ! Thanks, it was very informative. I want to upgrade my old Grado GR10E that I have since 6 years for these Andromeda SE or Sennheiser ie900. As I am using an iFi Go Bar, I am a bit sad to hear that they are not really a good match with this dongle. Do you think I might go with the ie900 ? My musical tastes are quite large but mostly gravitating around rock in all its declinations. Thanks in advance for the advices

Well, if GO Bar is your DAC AMP to go, then I don't think Andromeda ES is the way to go. Especially because of the slight hiss of the iFi's dongle. Don't have that much experience with IE900, so can't give you first hand experience. But! A good single dynamic driver IEMs can still kick ass! Also, soon we are presenting our yearly awards, I think you'll find some inspiration there ;)

Actually they went from a more colder tuning to a more flat/neutral^^ As least as a musician, that is the case. But in my experience, musicians have a completely different definition of neutral than audiophiles. For musicians, Flat/Neutral means "As close to the original sound as absolutely possible" while for audiophiles, this means "Recessed lower mids for more clearity" But if the reference is "How is the original sound supposed to sound", the new Andromeda is more Neutral than the previous one

I do believe that Andro ES adds more to the sound, which makes it less neutral. But! That doesn't mean that that you perspective is wrong. On the contrary. Depending on experiences and taste, both can be true. Thank you for your input! 🙏

@@zlevelx nice desktop setup! What is the difference between that and the Apple dongle? I've found the Andromeda 2020 to be similarly sensitive to sources and balanced connection.

Will it come with the qudelix 5k and the FiiO btr7? I have the Andromeda 2018 and the Andromeda S, and they go well with them!
