Just an fyi from a trucker, do your laundry after you take a shower so you can wash the clothes you took off and not cary dirty ones back to your truck. Also, my hubs and i have had many, many meals from truck stop groceries (spent 9 years over the road), Love's truck stops always had the best varietys. You can also check the coolers, some places even sold bacon and eggs as well as lunch meat, hot dogs, and our favorite was the Better with Cheddar brats, soooo good. Happy and safe travels to you.

This is an excellent project if campers are going on a long trip this is a way to recharge ones batteries by saying that I mean their physical batteries, one extra thing use half of your baked beans on toast with a fried egg for breakfast

Hey Ryan, pro chef here. You should put a folded wet towel/paper under your cutting board to make it secure. Also maybe get a slightly bigger one that would suit your knife better (wood is dirtier but easier on the edge of the knife, plastic is cleaner). Also a heat proof silicone spatula would help you clean up pots and pans better = less waste and less dishwashing :) Thanks for the content, always great.
@Skuggfaks4 ай бұрын
Imagine saying plastic is cleaner than wood. Wood is naturally anti-bacterial if handled right.

In a pinch, good mayonnaise (Blue Plate or Duke's for example) makes a good egg yolk substitute. Good mayo is egg yolks, oil, acid, and salt. I've made both Hollandaise and Caesar dressing using mayo. This doesn't work as well with lesser brands because they also use egg whites.

I would highly recommend not having your laptop on a blanket while doing anything demanding - it breathes from the bottom, best to have it on a solid surface or even better - elevate the bottom off a surface so it can have unimpeded airflow, might make whatever you have going on happen a little faster, and lead to less wear and tear of this internals

Pro tip Ryan: Whenever you're making toasties just lather up both sides of the sandwich and insert your filling before you toast up in the pan, the mayo has a higher burning point than your bread, giving your filling more time to melt and a tastier, more crunchy crust. Love the content, keep it up x

He didn't make a shepherd's pie though, he made a cottage pie. Shepherd's pie is made with lamb, it's kinda implicit in the name "Shepherd's pie" as a shepherd watches over a flock of sheep, not cows..

OK. That was a creative use of truck stop sandwich food but the rest of the world is still stunned at how GD sweet everything in the USA is - I remember the sugar content of commercial bread was obscene. Real rye bread, pickles ,onion, cured meats, cheese and hot mustard. Or in Asia, fish or eggs and rice and vinegar, ginger/garlic, bitter greens, etc. Salsa, beans and eggs with corn tortillas. Flat bread stuffed with curried veggies in South Asia or slow-cooked mashed beans with garlic and olive oil spooned into a pita and eaten with a fresh hot pepper in the Middle East. Lots of roasted, savoury meats at truck stops too along with thick, wholesome soups and warm, fresh bread. The rest of the world doesn't eat dessert for actual meals - except for sliced fresh fruit and plain yoghurt with honey as a side dish in some European/Middle Eastern/Greek places along with the savoury - typical breakfasts/lunch. No wonder USA people are so big :D EDIT - even the ham and pickle relish are stuffed with sugar :o EDIT 2 - Sheppard's Pie = lamb or mutton, Cottage Pie = beef and neither have beans. Just saying (shepherds tend to sheep, not cows). No tomato sauce - gravy! 'Merica! EDIT 3 - lotsa fun and very entertaining but nothing nutritious or authentic :D :D

Thumbs up on the cottage pie you made (shepherd's pie is made with lamb... as in sheep-herder pie). It was pretty clever. I was pleased that you didn't top it with GenZ gravy (ranch dressing). Pringles would possibly have been easier to use, since they are basically formed and baked instant potatoes, but I don't know about better.
