Brodie.....your best videos ( for me ) are the ones with your dad. I miss my pop's a bunch and we tried to always fish together when possible and he would come to my races ( MX ) and just hang with me all day. I lost him in 2005 , and even 16 years later , I miss him every day. Enjoy every day you can with him! Great video dude!

Hi Brodie i love that your vids still pop up after 3 years. I know a man who stood on the deck of a ship during nuclear testing, they were told to turn their backs & cover their eyes. He is dying of acute radiation cancer now & gets a Navy pension, but its little reward for his gallant bravery. "What Happens" I have seen some radiation testing at these test sites & some metal objects came up at 800 RADS. Hundreds of times what humans can withstand for more than a few minutes. Short term effects can be radiation burns on the skin, sore throat & sickness, but It leaches your thyroid gland with radiation & the long term effect is thyroid cancer & can cause other cancers, so these places are certainly dangerous to visit.

I’m sure you really appreciate these times now, and you will surly cherish them later! Thoroughly a pleasure living vicariously through your diving, spear fishing, cooking, and enjoying the wonderful oceans and seafood! Blessed life you have with your lovely family and friends! Imagine being able to spent quality time like this with your old man. Got me to thinking I need to find something to share with my dad. Been following this channel now for ahhh I'm guessing 4 years or so and Brodie has never let me down once with that feel good content. I know everyone comments here about how wonderful his life is etc but we only see a small piece of it. I'm sure he has problems like all of us, but his vids really do brighten up my day, and yes make me wish I was back in Oz, or better yet allowed to travel there asap.

I throughly enjoyed this video of your trip to the Montebello Islands with your dad. When I was younger I did a lot of spear fishing down in the Florida Keys. (The gun I used back then- late 1970’s through the 80’s was a wooden Sea Hornet from Australia.) Keep up the great work Brody! I’m re-living my youth through you & the YBS crew. I love the work you do & what you & the YBS crew stands for. I look forward every evening to watching the magic of your videos! Best Regards, Ed Krukowski. Miami, Fl. USA

I lived 8 years in Micronesia, Pohnpei. In the early 80,s and again in the 90’s. Went hand trolling every weekend with locals and night reef spear fishing (Hawaian Sling) on Saturdays. Hand Trolling through those feeding birds using varied color combinations of sparkling silicon squid and feeling the line tighten in your hand when they hit was a thrill. Much more efficient than rod & reel plus really bad ass. The locals wore their fishing line cut hand scars with great pride. We put the really big ones on an orange float (too much to handle for our hands and arms) and let them run themselves out. Never used a spear gun in my life. Just too much of an advantage, too easy and I’ve seen so many loose their head and over harvest the reef.

Brodie, Love the beautiful area in which you live and explore. I would do most anything to be able to spend a couple days with my dad like this. We never had big fancy boats back in those days just a little row boat but that was 40 years ago when my dad passed. He loved fishing and family time. Now that I’m older and have had several nice boats in my life, I wished I could had more time with him so I could take him fishing off my boat. Keep doing what you’re doing and keep fishing with the ole’ man. You’ll have great memories to remember and share when he is no longer there for you. Luckily for you, you will always have these wonderful videos to remind you of how much joy you gave him.
