Camping in my Converted SUV by the Lake

Trial run before going full-time this summer. It's a little cramped inside, but it's doable and I'm going to make it work. Minimalizing is definitely the key. Less food, less gear, and less clothes.
Spending a few days at my favorite spot by the lake. Absolutely LOVE it here so much. I'm seriously considering a meetup here!!!

Great place for a meet up! Love seeing clean bathrooms at these camps. Oh those manatees! Love seeing all creatures up close and in person. Enjoyed the video. Oh and Diane upgraded! Her new rig looks nice. 💕

It's about an hour southwest of St. Augustine. Not a far drive at all!! I love SA, too, especially Anastasia State Park - also one of my favorites!!!

What a lovely campground!!! It has everything you could want. Manatees are a huge bonus! I remember when you and Diane went here last year. Definitely enough room for a meet up. Ice discovery. ❤❤

Rain eased up and we ended up having a pretty nice afternoon. Steaks on the grill. Huge spider on my SUV - and maybe inside of it! I'm still shaking. I thought I was having a heart attack, but it was a mild panic attack. I still don't know where it went. And I just screamed a few minutes ago, because I backed up into my trash bag and it made a crumbling sound. It's gonna be a long night!

They do not appear to be afraid of people standing on the docks watching them. It's mating season, so I'm thinking they weren't thinking much of us humans. They were really bussssy. LOL!

Oh, Heather. Storm demolished my new awning. I love it here, but I've been jinxed. Frog got in my SUV. It's been one thing after another. Spider had a baby on my roof. Baby is dead. Mother still at large.

20:53 - I feel you Kim! I also suffer from psoriatic arthritis (Amgevita bi-weekly injections) and I camp in a tiny Subaru. I recently purchase a new-to-me minivan so that I will have more room. Do you think you will get a van a some point? I remember you mentioning it in another video that you were starting to look for a van. Is that still your plan?

It is still my plan. Every time my PsA acts up, I'm ready to buy a minivan/van. When I'm having a good month, I'm okay with the SUV. It's crazy. I started two doses of Skyrizi and that's it. I'm having a hell of a time getting medication in Florida!!! Long Story!!! I'm looking for another medication. After the past few nights, I'm back to looking for a van. I think I'll seriously look right after the summer. What kind of minivan did you end up getting? I'm liking the Honda Odyssey.

@@OutonaLimbwithKym Oh dear! Sorry to hear about the medication. I had a heck of a time myself but now that I have a new specialist things are going much better. I was first put on Humira and now the Amgevita. I had some deformation happening in my hands and the injections have stopped that completely. I feel very fortunate. As for the van. Back in 2021 I bought a Dodge Grand Caravan (2011) and lived/travelled in it full time for 7 months until the transmission went. I then bought an old awd Subaru. Great little car, but the getting in and out of my bed was proving to be rather difficult so when I started looking for another van I knew I wanted another Dodge. I also like the Honda Odyssey. Amazing minivans. I bought a 2010 Dodge about a month ago and I am in the process of no-building it out. Oh! Btw, I bought the overland kitchen thingy because I watched your video and love it! I will be incorporating it into my build. Thanks for your videos, not only are they informative but you are hilarious girl! Ps. My diet starts on Monday 😂

I love the manatees, but we can’t really see them if you take a pair of sunglasses that are polarized and put it against your lens. We will be able to see them better but thank you anyways still cool.

I did. I was unsuccessful! The location of the air conditioner didn't work. I need to head home and reconfigure everything and try again!!! The tubing didn't reach the window, so I maneuvered it and then it was too close to the ceiling and I couldn't see the buttons. LOL! One thing after another. The spider and frog that made a visit, didn't help at all!

How did the portable A/C work?

Not so great. It's so cramped inside the suv, that I couldn't really get it situated correctly. I only cut out one hole for the tubing and I needed two. So my SUV went from 95 degrees to 91. Not sure if I need to use two or not. I had it in the front seat on a board and it was so high to the ceiling, I couldn't see the buttons. I need to relocate it tomorrow and try again!!!
