Newer ESAPIs absolutely have that crack arrestor. It's made of steel, and it improves the multiple hit abilities of the armour drastically. The backer might have delaminated due to sheer damage you inflicted earlier onto the plate lel I would actually hazard a guess that the armour would have defeated the close spacing hit if the armour was uncompromised. While it would have been a somewhat risky shot, it still would have likely been stopped in my opinion.

Hay Buffman nice video. I am left handed also. Thinking about a dbx and have seen other videos on the gun and the shells ejected backwards. Your video and gun ejects forward. For a left hand is that an advisable gun, controls etc. but especially ejection? Is DiamondBack working on the loose magazine issue? Very much appreciate a reply, because I almost bought one until viewing some of the other videos; and I am encouraged by yours as far as ejection goes. FV

Buffman, can u answer a few Qs about the DBX? 1. Do FN mags work with it? Some say they won't feed reliably. 2. How well does a suppressor mount? Some say there are problems.
@BuffRANGE
@BuffRANGE 3 жыл бұрын
I believe it was me who stated those 2 points. 1. FN Mags work, but in my T&E sample the magwell is too large and the mag would move around too much at times and could cause feeding issues. 2. There is NO barrel shoulder on the DBX. If you mount a can try to find one that has a mount that indexes off the muzzle, and not the barrel shoulder. If you can't, definitely use an alignment rod to verify no contact before shooting.

@JTheraos
@JTheraos 2 жыл бұрын
The energy you would feel is equal to the energy the shooter is getting from recoil. Hence why "stopping power" is fuddlore. Obviously there are some factors that make the shooter feel less recoil than there is energy from the bullet at the muzzle but if you have a straight blowback, that is the energy you would feel getting hit in armor minus however much energy is dispersed around the armor. I've been shot twice. Once in the chest and in the knee. The energy that I felt from the initial hits felt like a medium-low strength punch. No more than how hard you get hit in the shoulder by a standard ar-15. In fact it felt just like if you put the stock of an ar into your chest and fired a round and then put the stock on your knee and fired a round. Of course that's just the initial hit. You best believe the extreme pain didnt take long to set in from the bullets shattering my bones. Lol

@@PolynesianSaus Oh, man think the energy dump alone would kill you. 7.62x39mm has about 1500 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle, while 12.7x99 has over 12,000. The ESAPI that were issued is pretty good. Remember, we also have to wear side plates. I think a set of mediums is around 20 pounds. If I can stop 3-4 rounds of 7.62x54r AP, I consider myself lucky. Our plates are good for protecting the body from IEDs, artillery fragmentation, and grenades, too. These things have saved a lot of lives the last 20 years.

@@theimmortal4718 I think if you could spread it out evenly over a large surface area of the energy dump would not kill you. remember there is no more force going down the barrel then is going backwards in recoil. The kick of a 50 cal bolt action even without a muzzle brake won't kill someone therefore the same energy in the projectile spread out over a comparable mass and surface area or a lighter mass and larger surface area ought to be survivable. so I think the real question is actually whether anybody would be willing to wear and carry a plate that could do that.

I like the five seven for what it can do that other things can't do.it's lightweight and you can stack a whole lot of them in a pistol grip. It has centerfire reliability. It has at least the perceived potential to be AP ish in a pistol... once you put it in the gun bigger than a pistol It is comparatively way less special. If the gun isn't lightweight the fact that the ammo is is a plus but it's not as big of a plus. it's always been strange to me though that people act like 5'7 is ridiculously expensive but almost every time I've ever seen it for sale it's been basically the same money as plinker 45 ACP and less than 38 special.

@@GunFunZS center-fire and performance from short barrels the key point for a bolt gun. Agree with you , without full auto zero sense in a 7lb rifle sized gun. Than a 20" 5lb 17hmr with less performance? The CMMG guns were a first step , if these diamondbacks pan out they will be another- get away from the awkward p90 mags , more conventional layout.. Nice video but you should make it known ceramic armor is no good after one hit. You can’t even really drop it without compromising it

Nahh that’s completely false and I’ve proven that extensively here on my channel

I wonder if you had a soft armor backer for it if it would've stopped the round or not. Out of a full-length barrel 5.7 will easily vibe-check soft armor. Normally the soft armor does nothing more than BFD control, but in this case I wonder if it would've actually had some ballistic effect.

That were pistol rounds. Try rifles high penetrators. That armor have to be get threw, do what you want!

This thing needs .30 caliber tungsten rounds or steel core rounds traveling in excess of about 3000 fps to make it through. It's tough, but there are certainly tougher armor out there. :D

not totally sure those are the best types of 5.7 to try and beat armor with.those are more for dumping energy quickly on impact,by breaking apart,this causes maximum damage from hydrostatic shock and reduces the potential for overpenitration.for breaching a hard armor plate like this,I'd be grabbing an AP round in 5.7,something made spicifically to defeat armor.but then again,that would be more of a military grade ammunition,not a civilian ammunition,and would be restricted at best.so not totally even practical to consider.

Correct. SS190 would likely fair better because after the ceramic is toast the backer would have problems with the steel tip.

Use ISU, not imperial measurements. KZfaq has an international community, no one gets imperial measurements. Hell, even the US science and industry uses it, why don't you?

@@BuffRANGE An American, I guess? Typical. The whole planet uses ISU, the whole planet... but the US. Why being so damn stubborn? As said, your industry and science uses it, so why not you? "Because someone complained"? Not a great excuse really. I feel as if this most unsciency imperialistic usage is more kind of a discrimination to the rest of the planet?

@@Xogroroth666 originally when I started this I figured 100% of my audience would be US based since most of my demos involve US armor. I now add the metric thickness measurement. I had someone complain when I did because I added the decimal point measurement. So I can’t please everyone, hence the apology.

As screwed up as this world is getting and the anti law enforcement you and the others out there show how to defeat body armor is so irresponsible show criminals and would-be thugs how to thake out law enforcement and military and no im not an anti gun nut i have several and im former MP and personal protection officer i just can't believe that a law abiding citizen would ever be willing or unwilling to show how to defeat body armor this is not just to you but any one doing this

What an officer may or may not be wearing is a pretty large variable for a criminals/ bad guy to try to contend with, never mind the fact that they would probably start shooting extremities. Most officers who are not SWAT are wearing soft armor as primary wear, and soft is easily defeated by rifle rounds. On the flip side, what if you're buying armor for an agency or yourself, and you don't quite trust the sales pitch a company gave you and you want verifiable third party results.

The citizens should be equally armed as the standing army, aka the police. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, cops are not some knighted higher level of citizen than their neighbors who aren't policy enforcers of the state, it's just a job.
