Toke has what many women in Nigeria wish they had. A financially stable life and a beautiful love life. This was until her whole world came crumbling down. Toke started dating Martin, in her 4th year in the department of Law, University of Lagos, and after her graduation from both the University and Law school, her life seemed so perfect and undisturbed. Finally, after 4 years of dating, Martin was ready to settle down and he popped the big question to Toke. Of course she agreed to marry him and afterwards they started making preparations for when the parents of both parties would be introduced to each other. Fast forward to the day of introduction, Toke was very excited and was very involved in the preparation of food and drinks that were to be served to the guests as refreshments. The family of her intended husband finally arrived and upon introduction, her fiance's Father recognized Toke's mother to be one of the sex workers he patronized a lot in the past. Toke was raised by a single Mom who did everything in her power to raise her daughter in the best way possible. However, the absence of a Father figure in Toke's life was perceived as a major flaw from the in laws to be, especially given the mother's history. The event was immediately cancelled by Martins father who insisted that everyone was leaving immediately after he confirmed the identity of Toke's mother.
The incident left Toke in tears and Martins in complete awe and confusion as he had no idea what the issue was.
Martin had to leave first with his father although he promised to come back for Toke.
Will he still come back after he finds out what the matter really is?
