I actually got a more likely possibility, basically, lets assume theres 12 "buttons" you can press, this may approximately accounts for wasd space scrolling and some cardinal mouse movement. The WR SSG record is around 2 minutes, and multiplying the number of seconds by 20 gives how many ticks their are in that time, 20*2*60. (1/(2^12))^(20*2*60) is the likelyhood assuming set seed, so just multiply it by 1 / (2^64) to get that same seed. Computing this number, you get something about 8689 digits long. This is also not considering how their can be much easier worlds that exist for the monkeys to find, both in terms of time and technical ability to perform [so 4 minutes @ 5 inputs per second with a control N of ~9 would give a muchhh lower number, which is a run im sure can exist] honestly though? I feel in actuality I feel it would be a lot closer to maybe 1 / 10^65 or something as monkeys are intelligent beings, and im sure with enough monkeys you can start racking up a decent amount that understands more and more about the game combined with some luck. At a certain point (wayyyy before this number) you will probably get human level intelligence monkeys by just random genetic mutations in spawning in that many damn monkeys

@phoenixd28632 жыл бұрын
On a practical level, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be dealing with monkeys pressing keys randomly. A monkey could probably handle the idea of "immersion" and learn to actually move their character around, and possibly even combat. Broader-scope issues like farming might be tougher....
@Triumph2632 жыл бұрын
And certain concepts like creating a nether portal, creating eyes of ender, and going to the end, require massive leaps of logic that aren't really intuitive. Ruined portals *might* hint at nether portals enough to guess them, and the purpose of eyes of ender would be self explanatory once the portal was found but this is far beyond what most people could guess without additional information.
@phoenixd28632 жыл бұрын

This like that age old Geometry Dash question: “If you put an infinite amount of monkeys in front of Geometry Dash and give them 1 attempt can even one of them beat the hardest level ever completed by a human (rated level)” The current hardest rated level right now is Tartarus, so can a monkey beat Tartarus? The obvious notion is that yes one would be able to beat the level because there are infinite monkeys, but it’s not that simple. The reason this question is so difficult to answer is that there are some extremely hard parts in the level that require you to click quite fast like 10cps+ that also requires precision, is it even possible for a monkey to click that fast anyways? Plus in certain parts you have to click once for an extremely short time and immediately let off the mouse and get ready for the next click, does a Monkey have good enough hand dexterity to even do that? As you can see this question gets trickier and trickier to answer the more you dive down the rabbit hole.

A quick rule of thumb is that if a 4 year old human can beat minecraft, then a monkey can, as a fully grown great ape has roughly the mental capacity of a 4 year old, and can communicate most efficiently with humans out of any type of monkey, via sign language, which is possible due to their hands being very similar to humans, which also means it would be easy for a monkey to use human gaming equipment. also, monkeys can be taught basic reading skills, so switching the language file from english to simplified English and installing a mod like just enough items to assist with crafting recipes would yield a decent chance at a monkey beating minecraft within a few dozen attempts, assuming a human taught the monkey the basics beforehand (ie, the controls, the menus, advancements screen, jei interface, etc). it would also help if the monkey was on a older version of minecraft that doesnt have as much overwhelming content, but isnt too difficult that it's hard for a monkey to persevere through it. 1.8 would be a good balancing point in my opinion, and with these conditions, i think you could tell a monkey "beat the ender dragon" and there would be a large enough chance that there isnt a need to involve the infinite monkey theorem that he/she would get all the necessary information from the game itself and (eventually) beat the enderdragon Edit: I finished watching the video and it wouldnt have to stay still for 27 hours, the chances are significantly higher if the monkey can wander off and come back before the dragon perches
@CCleanerShot2 жыл бұрын
This. The video assumes a monkey is a literal single-cell organism who would actually need to do only random inputs to beat the game. Doesn't detract from the video though, but kinda discredits monkeys way more than necessary. The video wants no human-interference, but even if you were to put it with those restrictions, gathering a million monkeys would probably not require an entire lifetime for one of them to randomly beat the game.

@Kuino2 жыл бұрын

@LarsonPercussion2 жыл бұрын
Now, i can see some flaws in this hypothesis: firstly, this is the MAXIMUM amount of time & monkeys needed to beat minecraft. Secondly, this doesn’t take into account the time and resources needed to keep the monkeys alive and healthy to play minecraft, which would take away from the time that they play minecraft, meaning the real maximum amount of time needed would effectively be longer. However, the third flaw i can see is the fact that evolution and extinction (bar the inevitable heat death of the universe) are not taken into account. Both of these variables could drastically change how long it could take for a monkey to be minecraft or the amount of monkeys needed to be minecraft. If a monkey evolved to become even more intelligent, almost to the point of human kind, it would take far less time and monkeys; although it would take a long time for monkeys to evolve, it is far less time than the end of everything. On the other hand, if monkeys go extinct, or become endangered, that would put a hard stop on the experiment or limit the amount of monkeys respectively.

@NullExotic2 жыл бұрын
Is it ocean exposed right next to spawn with 12 eyes already in?
@tejasnikam12602 жыл бұрын
yea cuz that would be even rarer and the monkey would have to swim down randomly and break at least one block to get in
@Winter_Blossoms2 жыл бұрын
@CosmicWasteXD_ @Exotic Kennith i don't remember the video too well so i may be missing over some details here, so i'm sorry if so: rarity shouldn't be an issue as we're just considered with possibility at scales of these lengths; if a monkey can randomly dig down it can randomly swim down; and breaking a block to enter is the easy part because silverfish-infested blocks could be mined instantly. side note: strongholds or their portal rooms can also generate above ground as crazy as that sounds, but i'm unsure about what conditions are necessary for that.
@tejasnikam12602 жыл бұрын
@@Winter_Blossoms yes but after breaking the silverfish block a silverfish would appear and start damaging the monkey and the monkey would not know at all what was going on and would just keep pressing random buttons maybe occasionally hitting the silverfish but it would be insanely rare for the monkey to be able to kill it as it moves very quickly and is small and the monkey would not have aim and probably not high cps as well. as for the strongholds generating above ground im pretty sure this has only happened on bedrock edition
@MajoorX2 жыл бұрын
15:12 The chances of a monkey randomly getting ontop of a pillar (excluding the falldamage shenanigans and the repetition of the enderdragon jumps) aren't 3% at all! I think you were asuming that there's an equal chance for each outcome to happen (i.e. distance: not far enough, too far and just right), but that isn't the case at all. If we only look at hight for example, there are two things that we need to account for: 1.What's the enderdragons kb (how many blocks) 2. What would be our margin of error? (let's say 10 blocks, because of the radius of the end pillar and the monkey could strafe a bit back.) If the enderdragon would only be able throw you 140 blocks in the air (only assuming hight here, as if all the kb of the enderdragon would hit the monkey upwards there wouldn't even be a way for him to make it towards the pillar). There'd be a 10/140 or 1/14 chance that the monkey would land on the end pillar, ONLY assuming hight. This thought process also has to be applied to the yaw and distance of the throw, which would be way smaller than 3%. Anyways I wish you a nice day IGBLON and if any of you readers have something to add please leave a reply! (And I get that there's a chance this was done for simplicity's sake, but my brain still wanted this out there.)
