I completely agree. I sit 10 foot away from my 120 inch screen and it looks absolutely perfect to me as well as almost everyone that came over. However, there were two people out of 20 that I’ve shown that say it’s just a little too big at that distance so I guess you could say there’s a 10% chance it may be a bit much for some.

If you're mainly watching hing stuff through hdmi or a connected device, it doesn't matter too much. I've got a hisense u8g 85 that I got very cheap, and it looks just as good as my parents 75 qn900b 8k, if you're further than a couple of feet. And then, a dark scene comes on, and the u8g looks like dogshit, because it's not a true led but backlit, and it's backlit badly. But hey, cost me less than a 10th of my parents neo....

That’s not the only problem. I recently got an 86 inch tv QNED and it is too bright in a dimly lit room. At lower than 20 brightness things start looking dull. The sheer size of it makes it hard on the eyes. Also it is very overwhelming. Sometimes you just want to relax and watch tv not be fully immersed by a gigantic screen. Bear in mind I have taken RTINGS recommended size for my viewing distance which is over 12 feet or 4.2m.

If I could have a dedicated room with a big screen, I'd do exactly what you're talking about! Except, personally not a fan of any sound bars. I feel the budget systems are still way better than sound bar out there (space permitting)

@@Jackp2003 I don't know much about PPI, other than a quick Google search ha, but I'll just say that 83 90j is amazing! I think the bang for the buck is Sony's TV one notch under but if you have the bucks to get the 90j, do it. It's incredible. Sports are my only complaint and that's not on the TV other just going smaller screen size for sports. The couple college basketball games that were broadcast in 4k for march madness was truly amazing. I hope sometime soon the TV networks can figure out 4k for other sports, it's just incredibly expensive to broadcast it :/

Honestly, everything I've read says that the new Epson laser projectors are very similar, with noticeable but not essential upgrades to image quality as compared to the 5050UB. Closer to 4K pixel shifting, better HDR performance, and laser light source that will last the life of the projector. So I think if you don't already own a 5050UB, you can sort of assume that reviews of that projector are comparable against something like the Viewsonic.

@@nickharris5231 Judging by Chris' 5050UB review I would think the new models address the gripes he had and probably will replace the 5050UB in his theater. Seems like the best of the best outside of Sony and JVC.

@@taker610 yeah, I have the 5050UB myself, which I only bought last year. I have been considering selling it and replacing with the new LS11000 while it still holds most of its value, but I only just recently discovered that I was only a few cheap pairs of glasses away from being able to view 3D movies on my projector and started investing in a small collection of 3D discs. The LS11000 does not have 3D capability, unfortunately, so I think I'm going to hold out for a while and see where laser projection technology is after I burn through the current lamp in a few years. If I were not looking at the value of upgrading from the 5050UB I'd definitely be buying the LS11000.

Everything he said was accurate, but he did miss one point that I think is overlooked by many people while purchasing TVs. I have a theater room which you can see on my channel. And while I love watching movies down there, and gaming is fantastic. I would not want it to be the only TV in my house, or even the main TV in my house. If you go with a true home theater audio solution (AVR and separates) this just exacerbates the problem. We have a 75-inch QN90A paired with a Q950A Soundbar in the living room. And it is great for General TV watching, movies, and gaming. The problem with the 85-inch and home theater system downstairs is, it is just too immersive for everyday TV watching all the time. Whenever we come out of the theater room both my wife and I feel like we've just come from a play or a movie theater. It's GREAT🥳🤤🤯...but you're TIRED 🥱🥱😴. We do sit closer to the screen in the theater room than we do in the living room, just because of the way the rooms are set up. But we did have the 85" in the living room for the first few days, and it was still overwhelming after a while. Of course do what you want, but don't think 75" won't do the trick. Especially if you're going with a very bright TV. Just my two cents, if I had to do it over again and could only choose one, I would definitely go with a 75-inch over the 85. And put the additional money into the best Soundbar you can afford (don't buy the Samsung soundbar unless you have a Samsung TV, the screen on top of the sound bar will drive you insane🤬). Upgrading your sound system gives you an immersion effect that you can control based on the mood and time of day, as opposed to a screen size which is always going to be the exact same size no matter how you're feeling.

@@4fastdrs that’s some good info I do have a pretty elaborate av setup with 6 klipsch rp8inch towers and the rc643 center channel but the 65 is feeling small. I do use it for everyday viewing. So maybe the 77-83 is the hot ticket. I’ve seen some 100 inch plus and would agree daily viewing normal tv on that would be kinda tiring. Thanks for the feedback I’m pretty sure I’m sold on the 77 or 83 inch lg g2 guess I really need to see the size difference in person and from my viewing distance to make the choice.

@@a1racer441 In your own space is the key, if you're torn between the two I would go with the larger one 1st. As counterintuitive as that may sound based on my previous comment. Here's the logic behind that, if you get the 83" and are happy with it, and everyday viewing is not an exhausting reality then great keep it and no harm no foul. If it's too big you can box it up and return it for the 77" and you're good to go. But if you get the 77" first, you will have a question in the back of your mind about whether or not the 83" would have worked that will lie unresolved and every time you see a review with the 83" it will be a question whether or not you made a mistake. On top of which if you get the 77" and then take it back and get the 83-inch and then realize the 83" is too big, you'll have to do a second box up, and a 3rd install just to get back to where you were in the first place. I returned both the upstairs and downstairs sets (one audio issue, and one DSE ) and know the process can be exhausting. Hope everything works out for you😉

As long as you get native progressive signal out from the Dvd player.. the TVs processing unit specially a Sony one ..would make an excellent job scaling the content.

I sit 9 feet away from my television 📺. I had a 55 inch but got a 43 inch because the 55 inch was uncomfortable. I think I’m in the minority because I like a smaller television. Though 43 inches is not that small. If I had a 43 inch 25 years ago everyone would say how big my tv is. Times have changed.
