Just found your videos and all are pretty awesome. Just curious on how the rc rode after this adjustment. Just bought my x3 and to be honest I was expecting a plusher ride out of it. I have the qs3 shocks and they are way out of spec also.

It rode better after I did the Fox tune, but I am probably going to get the shock therapy dual rate springs. I heard it makes a big difference in ride quality. Thanks for watching!

Two things if I may - re the rear shocks you indicate they started at 28.5" and you changed them to 26.5 makes it higher - by shortening the shock the spring has more lift?

Yes by compressing the spring you are making your ride height higher.

I've liked your videos! I just am picking up a 2017 XDS with only a few hundred miles in a few days. I took pictures and was wondering about that top preload/crossover spring on mine. Yours looks to be doing the same thing, the top is all bunched up. I don't see that on other x3's? I wont be back out to that dealership for a few days, so I can't measure how long the crossover is, but it looks like 4 inches instead of 6" for mine. Its odd lol

Yeah I have the QS3 shocks on my unit. I think the XDS and XRS shocks are different and have more adjustments. Mine just have the knob on top with 3 positions to choose from. You will like your XDS these units are a blast to drive. Thanks for watching!

So you do the crossover with it in ground??...I did it jacked up

Yes the unit has to be on the ground to set the crossover nut.

I have the 2020 base model turbo and was wondering how the ride quality was after the adjustments. Was it worth the hassle in your opinion to adjust or just leave stock?

It was definitely worth it. You have more ground clearance and stability. The ride was also noticeably better. The 2020s come with the fox tune standard now and you don't have to do anything but mine is a 2019.

@@UTVDIRT I have the same 64" RC model but in 2020 and was planning to do this tune. Where did you see the 2020's come with this as standard? I have also read speculation they come with different springs that don't sag as much but can't really find any proof to this.

Doing our tune now on 2019 turbo R. Just finished the front. Previous clearance in front was 12 3/4" springs are 23 1/4" off ground and when we lowered it back on ground to set crossovers to 4 1/2" the ground clearance went to 16 3/4". That's a 4" gain. Does that seem right? Have double checked all front measurements and they are exactly what you did.

Did you move the unit around so that the suspension can settle?

And just finished the back. Previous clearance on ground was 11 1/4" now it has 19". Seams like alot of gain. Rear springs are 26 1/2" and crossover 6". Haven't rode it yet. These are just measurements when lowered back to the ground.

Ok drive it up and down your drive way and the suspension should settle.

@@UTVDIRT Yes it did....As soon as we back it up we saw it settle down. Drove around yard a few times and measured again. Front gain about 1/4" and rear gain of 2 1/2". Thanks again. Great video. Sure helped us alot!

For the rear spring ...where did you guys measure from at top? Cause they have that little spring between couple and top

What about that smaller spring at the top on back that's not in thier picture?

Yes it's in the picture. Look at the top were it says crossover. The little spring is on top of the big spring. It shows were to measure for the crossover nuts.

Yea thier showing the front shock...rear is diff looking..its got a 3rd spring at top

It measures the same way on all shocks. Not sure what model you have but mine is the 64 inch RC.

So did you have to adjust after you put bigger tires on?

No I didn't think I needed to adjust anything. With the bigger tires it gave me more ground clearance.

The back took longer because they were way out of adjustment. The front didn't need a lot of adjustment it was close already.

Ride height measurements should be taken with driver and passenger(if you normally have a passenger) in the car, loaded with your normal cargo. Odds are you're still low.

No it actually rides better with way more ground clearance.

I believe the fox tune does not work on 2020 and newer. The factory supposedly fix the suspension issues on the newer models.

Hi, got a brand new 2023 x3 max rr and the suspension from canam is not well adjusted. The front spring are near loses wen light ridding. Those top lock rings are on the very top of the shock ? Looking for advice? Thanks

Yes unfortunately the ranger is in need of some care. Not totaled . Thank God for insurance

Okay glad you had insurance. That's the first person I called before I left the dealer. Wanted to make sure I was covered in case something happened. Hopefully everything works out for you.

If you didn’t move the bike back and fourth to let the suspension settle after having it on the jack before measuring then your measurements weren’t accurate

We actually drove it up and down the driveway a couple times before we took the final measurements at the end of the video. That's why the front went from 16 inches in the beginning to 15 inches at the end.

@@UTVDIRT I have read the 64 inch ds model has stronger radus rod than the 72 inch model rc any thoughts. I am torn between the polaris xp pro and the can am 64 inch R R the polaris A arm and Radus arms seem stronger than the Can Ams. this wouldn't be a sole determining factor as what to buy, since I really love the Can Am. Do you plan on stifling the front bulk head on your Can Am? I injoy your instructional videos greatly thank you and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard the same thing. The radius rods on the can am are a weak point of the unit. I plan on upgrading mine to ZRPs but I am going to wait until they need replaced. I almost bought the xds rr but it was a little out of my price range. The Pro XP is a nice unit but I like the way the can am looks and performs. I went with my gut feeling and bought the X3 and after having it for a month I know I made the right decision. Yes I plan on adding a kit to stiffen the front bulk head. I hope this helps you out.
