I really hate that this is the answer. You shouldn't be locked into iPhone to use a cellular apple watch. It should function completely independently of any other device. I have an iPhone, iPad and Mac...my apple watch is the only reason I'm worried about getting an android phone again and that really sucks and is anti-consumer!

I was really hoping Apple would be forced to open the Apple watch to other platforms after they were sued for having a monopoly on smart watches but they ended up winning the court case.

Works pretty well for Apple… $. However, it enables deep integration, stability and features and a better experience for the user. Buy an android watch if you want to go an android phone, a lot of great watches out.

Here I’ll answer it for you. You can use it with a android I believe just the capability will be limited so you won’t get access to all the features and someone else with an iPhone has to set it up for you

Okay if someone has any idea how to help me I would greatly appreciate it. Just bought a series 5 Apple Watch. Reset it and opened the watch app on my iPhone to pair. It gets to where it says I need to update the watch. But when I click it it says no connection even though my phone is connected to WiFi. I can’t connect the watch to WiFi until it’s set up right? Or at least I haven’t figured out to if there is a way. I’ve tried restarting my phone and watch. My iPhone is updated to the latest iOS(17.5.1) and it’s a 13 pro max. Anyone know what’s up?

No, there is if you have a older Apple Watch with your old phone and you’re transferring it, link it to your old phone and then erase your old phone in your Apple Watch will still be paired with no phone

you need an iphone. if you have an android, you are unable to set it up. if you do want an apple watch, make sure you have an iphone first

@@Thunder-bolt488 exactly if you pay your hard on money for an iPad you should be able to set up your watch. Your iPad hold your iCloud account and it has a camera. Apple purposely limits these things so you can spend more money. Thank you for the video.

I have this question: does Watchchat2 work without an iPhone? Can someone please answer this for me. I know that I have to do the work to set up WhatsApp and also switch my friend's WhatsApp to mine once 🤔😅 I want to use an Apple Watch Lte with Watchchat 2 without an iPhone for ever. No. If you have a newer cellular Apple Watch you can set up for a family member on your mom or dad or sisters iPhone. Type in your Apple ID and it will basically go off of the iPad. But don’t worry about getting to far away from the iPad it’s cellular. I hope I helped.

If you have a newer cellular Apple Watch you can connect to your mom dads or sisters iPhone. And type in your Apple ID it basically will go off of an iPad connected to that Apple ID. Pretty cool. Hope I helped

That is what the phone store employee said but I know that they don't know everything and I wasn't happy with no and wanted to see for myself so this video is to show that it was not an overlooked feature but to definitively say it won't work.

People that do not want to be in their ecosystem are not going to purchase another device just to get the watch to work. Terrible business decision because they're losing out on the money people would pay to have one of their devices by forcing them to buy a second. 😒😒😒😒
