@@WilscoAnthony and Ian are the "divorced dads" that the op of this comment is talking about. Since Anthony left Smosh, it felt like Anthony divorced Ian and left. And Courtney has been on Smosh since the mid 2010s. Anthony left Smosh in 2017 and fans thought it'd be possible for them to reunite with each other for years which is why the op said "who I've been trying to get back together." The "actually got back together" part is when Ian and Anthony reunited and bought Smosh. There's a whole announcement about it on the main Smosh channel. There's even a podcast with Amanda and Shayne called "SmoshCast" with Courtney which talked about Ian and Anthony buying Smosh and how the cast and crew didn't know about it until Ian announced it inside the office.

It's probably great for content. Plus it's great it seems the whole company is taking Anthony back so well. Like, it could have gone very badly with Ian really struggling for years. He himself probably felt like he could have left...like Ian really found thus whole crew, had to be the guy who held things together for years after defy went down, grew the crew and even probably had to lay off people when they weren't sure on their financial stability and even when viewership was going down. I can't wait for Ian and Anthony to bring back their food battle series...in HD. That was a freaking classic series

Also I think everyone has such good aesthetic these days that it was a hard choice but it did take Ian the longest to start caring more about clothes and that's understandable because not everyone cares about aesthetic so much but he's been looking good with his new style lately:) but since everyone else had cool, established looks for longer, it makes sense she said Ian even though he's stepping up the style

I’m not gonna lie, the vibe of the videos has gotten so much happier and positive since Anthony came back. I’m part of the "New Smosh" fanbase, but I’m glad Ian and Anthony have custody of their baby back. Everyone seems so much happier, have high hopes for the future.

Yeah exactly, for a while smosh felt almost soulless, it felt like the smosh members were tired and saw smosh as a job and not as fun! Since Anthony returned the feeling of "old smosh" has already came back, it's scary how quickly Anthony's presence has changed Smosh for the better!

I mean, I can see how everything felt soulless during their defy days, but the chemistry between the cast and crew had gotten so much better post-COVID, especially with the inclusion of Arasha, Chanse, and Angela. Sure there are some videos where they all seemed tired (people keep forgetting that this IS a job with hectic schedules and deadlines), but I wouldn't say that it was all completely soulless.

I also feel like he's been in fewer videos (probably figuring stuff out financially, so he had to step back a bit). Its so surreal seeing them together again. It rarely hits the same when something from your childhood gets remade or comes back but seeing Ian and Anthony together again having grown so much just hits me right in the feels. You can tell their friendship is completely genuine and they are not doing any of this for money or for attention.

Obviously old Smosh videos were problematic and it's okay to call that out. But she's always been a fan of them as a duo moving on to bigger and better things

@@thewierddood She was also fan of old smosh back when she was teenager but then she grew up, so did Ian and Anthony. Kind of normal sequence of events. Besides, everybody at Smosh is critical of some aspects of old Smosh. That includes Shayne, Damien and even Ian.

You get the regrets, the cold sweats, the anxiety kicks in, you start overthinking it, and before you know it you've spiraled out and get stuck in a state of perpetually cringing at yourself and apologizing. Like holy fuck, the part where she blurted out that Ian was an "easy answer"? If I was in her shoes, I'd just want to disintegrate on the spot lol

@@whitehuayra it essentially means to overthinking something, like in Angela's case, she said she thought Ian didn't have the best aesthetic, but she later regret it and felt bad, but even though she already apologized and no one minded, Ian included, and forgave her, she was still thinking abt it, silently wondering why she even answered, maybe wondering if Ian secretly felt a little hurt (I'm not claiming to know what Angela was thinking, those are usual common thoughts for everyone) and that's what it means to spiral, cuz you keep going down in your head ykmow? Hope this made sense and helped :>

I don't know if this makes sense but Anthony being back has also made me realise how much Courtney and Shayne have grown and come in to their own within Smosh (Damien too). From being cast to almost taking on leadership roles and more responsibilities, it's really nice to see this but also that the dynamic hasn't changed too much on screen.

yeah, he's been giving deadbeat dad for a while. and I don't mean like, bad father. I mean dad who's trying his best but is constantly stressed out and overwhelmed and struggling to look after himself because he has so many concerns that take priority. and over this last year that has been improving. but since Anthony is back, it just flipped completely and he just seems to be enjoying this ride.

These videos have made me get invested in the rest of the smosh crew after sort of being adrift from the channel for a while. Because it’s reintroducing Anthony is feels like I am also being introduced to everyone else properly for the first time and its made me appreciate them all so much! I’m hoping this change brings in lots of views for other smosh channels too! It’d be nice to have more content with ya’ll together it, ya’ll have great chemistry! I’m happy this gave me a reason to truly revisit Smosh again. I was a kid watching original smosh videos and I am happy to be back as an adult viewer. Keep up the great work guys! I can’t wait to really get to know everyone and add you all to my daily content again- everyone here seems to really rock 💖
