The site is for sure a scam. A: way too expensive for trucks($250??). B: unable to use your own wheels so what’s the point. C: not a single review is from a real person. Save yourself some trouble and money. Wait until they “perfect it” and make it accessible as well as useable

@@Kosology Thanks for your comment. 1) It's not $250 for the trucks 2) Our wheels are fire plus we have an adapter coming in like 2 months 3) Yes there are real reviews, and tons more coming. Literally going on Braille in 3 days. You're the real scammer here trying to keep people from riding the best board of their lives

this is a novel idea of a product. stopping espeically on a longboard always wears something down. wheels. shoes, or hips. (you can damage your hips by dragging your foot) i put over 50 thousand hours on a skateboard. according to phyiscs, no real way to stop on a skateboard without wearing something down.

How much weight can it support? I’m 200lbs and i carry about 10-20 lbs of gear. Def considering buying!!

It would work for you! It may be harder to come to a complete stop on a wicked steep hill, but it would still work really well.

30mph isn’t that fast. It’s more based on a design flaw. Use larger diameter wheels, because they have a slower acceleration speed and a faster over all speed. I’m sure it’s intended to maintain longevity with the brakes, so if you can’t swap the wheels, go for steeper hills. I’ll give you moxie for the product. Disk brakes will last longer than the soles of my shoes, and will reduce flat spotting while slowing down. I kind of like the idea, but I can’t take the advice from the info in the video, especially if the guy telling me to buy the product can’t pose properly. He should tuck his knee into your leg pit and tuck his arms in more, because it reduces drag. The guy isn’t even wearing proper protection, like slider pucks and knee pads etc. Does product solve a problem; not at all. In fact, it’ll probably increase the time it takes to learn, if you plan on becoming an intermediate. I can see this being used if you need to slide to stop, which mountainboard brands have been using disk brakes for years, but you aren’t strapped in like a mountainboarder; you have to freedom and small wheel diameter to just stop with your feet. You guys almost sold me this one, not having done downhill is a couple of months, but what you need to do is get a more experienced spokes person or whoever the guy is, and use larger wheels to suck the most speed you can out of your setup.

We’ve tested it at 50 too! I know we didn’t tuck right - we’re not pros, it does show though how total beginner/intermediates can do stuff that was never possible before! Imagine what an expert can do 👀👀 (50+) I’m sure we’ll change your mind in the future - these things are about to change the world

Kind of yes! Original Brakeboard launched in 2013 on kickstarter, we acquired them in 2021 after their founder Ben stopped doing business. We re-designed the brake so it's a different patent/engineering, but it functions the same!

0. 30mph is not "high speed", that's roughly beginner level. 1. They're dangerous, you can stop much faster with a proper powerslide. 2. You'll never learn to actually skate, you can see how terrible his form is here when he "does it at 30mph" (see how much slower he's going than the car going 30 when the pan happens) 3. They're not allowed in races. So the claim that this is going to "revolutionize" the industry is false, breaks are already banned.

@@ethannderyakabuski5749 okay so maybe pros don't wanna use it but for people who aren't riding all the time and like to just cruise this is a great thing And I don't don't under you "1" point, sliding is so much more dangerous than using a break, if you fuck up at high speeds you're getting seriously hurt, and once again if you're just a casual rider and wanna just cruise you're probably not up to putting hours into learning to slide

@imtweba1502 the danger is because of how much distance is required to come to a complete stop. In longboarding, this is referred to as a "shut down", and is the most important safety technique required for downhill longboarding. It's not dangerous because of how likely you are to screw up, the brake is dangerous because you won't have enough time to "shut down" in an emergency situation, which means various things (you're slamming into the homie infront of you, you're falling off a cliff, you're smashing into a vehicle coming up the road)

@@ethannderyakabuski5749 you do make valid points but you can tighten the breaks to slow down much faster. Maybe not as fast as a power slide. And I agree it's probably not gonna revolutionize the industry but it has its audience as I had previously referred to and I don't think they're that dangerous as long as you're not bombing crazy ass hills

Sure, it might have an audience - people who have fallen for the gimmick and don't understand downhill longboarding, or for those who never truly want to learn.
