Probably to prevent players not using Khimari regularly from having to go grind for hours, possibly backtracking quite a bit or burning through a lot of items to keep Khimari alive at the end of the fight

During the calm land phase where you mentioned not using outside knowledge for obtaining the extra aeons that a player wouldn't know about, the previous chatGPT screen displayed the names of these aeons, so technically it told you about them, you could have asked it about them using that information. However, unless you had been told about the chests in the temples, you would more than likely have needed to beat some dark aeons, so it's understandable you would want to just overlook that :P

Really need a machine learning model given somehow normalised inputs from the game world (combat data, field scenes, and knowing if there's a cutscene to wait through etc.) in realtime and which outputs controller/kbd/binding inputs, then have it train on the game itself thousands of times in the background and mess with back propagation choices, or something like that?

man, you getting stuck at the boss fight after getting shiva... that brings me memories, that's where i got filtered the first time i played this game, no matter what i did i couldn't win this fight, since i couldn't understand english i don't know whatever i did in the sphere grid, didn't steal the high potion from the bodyguards and did a bunch of other stupid stuff. when i finally got back to this game 10-15 years later (i was playing every game in sequence and started breaking the games since 5) i was so paranoid with this fight that i preped for it since the start, one shoted everything when i got there (still scared and paranoid though) and though "oh yeah... i'm way better at these nowadays"

I think one thing that could have improved the result is to write down a relatively long prompt explaining the context of your challenge run and making sure to set the parameters of what chatgpt's goals are, maybe even ask it to roleplay as someone who is trying to play the game with you as their eyes and hands, that way it would be less likely to keep trying to give you control of the situation. If your prompt works well you can refresh it when chat gpt gets confused and if it seems to fail in specific areas you can update it as you go along to try and improve it. That would probably still not be perfect but that would likely improve the output. Roleplaying in particular has been an efficient way to get these AI's to adopt desired behaviour. And good prompt writing can drastically improve the quality of the output of AI's like chatgpt.
